I'm on the look out for a new laptop for gaming/editing. Would anyone have any recommendations on current specials ? I'm not interested in any touch screens.

The Dell Inspiron Gaming laptop is always popular and great value for money but is under your budget. i5 GTX1050Ti 8GB for $936.75 or i7 GTX1050Ti 16GB for $1124.25.
Unfortunately the GTX1060 line has been discontinued.
What kind of gaming you looking to do?
+1 for dell I didn't know the 1060 line was discontinued. Maybe the new gpu line is incoming.
Other than that OP should consider metabox or clevo. Maybe razer, but imo they're generally overpriced for what they are unless OP is interested in form factor and style.
It seems they have replaced them with the new 'G-series' laptops.
They look quite similar and have the 8th gen intel cpus. They even have 17 inch versions. They aren't on the eBay store yet.
My bad, somehow I forgot to mention i wont touch Dell computers. I have since changed my opinion and decided to go for a work station desktop pc with a budget of 3.5k including monitor
You wont get bang for buck in a laptop if you want to game and render. build a rig, you have the budget. I use a Dell XPS for portable work, it runs the programs without running hot but do main work on a desktop.
