Controls on the cord for volume is for operating apple devices only I think.
there is no difference in the hardware. Only difference is in the inline remote wire. If you buy the apple version and then buy only inline cable for Samsung, then it will work in you headphone by just swapping the wires.
I have a pair of these exact ones on an Android device and they work fine. The + / - keys adjust volume.

You can get this thing called airmod which gives the qc25 Bluetooth capability
airmod are like $90-$100.
Pretty sure I saw them for ~$70 on eBay the other day. If $250 buys you both a qc25 and airmod. Still about $100 cheaper than getting a pair of qc35
