      This'll give you a rundown of what's in pedigree dog food. On a scale of 1-5 stars for quality of ingredients etc, pedigree food sits on one star most of the time.

        That's the American product, totally different ingredients to Australian made Pedigree. That site shows the primary ingredient is GROUND WHOLE CORN, whereas Aussie version contains no corn.

      Don't forget that choosing the cheapest pet food will only cost you more money in the end. This is because when your dog isn't getting the right nutrition he/she will starve and eat a lot, put on a lot of weight and be more susceptible to medical problems and so on. In some cases, pets that are not properly fed have a tendency toward disobedience and behavioral problems. So all in all it's worth spending a few dollars extra to feed your dog good quality food.

  Wet dog food is a waste of money. Same ingredients, but with added water AND cost. If your dog doesn't like dry, why not soften it with water, or even tastier, the spring water out of your tuna cans ;)

    Yeah true but I find the VIP platinum range pretty good quality. I think there are 3 types (chicken, turkey, weight management) and they can be found in the supermarket.

  there's also tonnes of discounted short-dated milk at iga carindale. 3L lite iga milk was going out at 1.15 yesterday. 3L lite iga milk dated 11 feb is $2.29 today.

  coles and iga quite often have $4.99/kg 3-star mince which makes good pet food.
