Are free Amazon books the equivalent of free Udemy courses? Everyone adds then but never uses them

There's a Buy Now With 1-click button for me under the Kindle Unlimited blurb. I don't have Kindle Unlimited account and always get them using that button.

  • Wants me to (re) join Kindle Unlimited to get the deal for free otherwise I have to pay

Works for me - buy now with 1-Click. No Kindle unlimited.

@Trantor thanks for the Aussie link.

Genuine question - is there still a reason for people to hold on to US/UK accounts now that the GST importation is becoming more of an issue? Just curious why I'm still seeing so many US/UK links. Is there still so much on the other sites we can't get here?

  • Thanks OP and Trantor.

  • It's $2.99 in US store, $3.99 in AU store OP, not free unless you're on Kindle Unlimited… I made the mistake of clicking the "Buy now with one click" and got charged $2.99

    • I seem to recall you can get this reversed by contacting Amazon right away.

Sounds like the deal expired. I'd report it.
