Looking for Cheap Audio Head Unit (Mazda 3 2006) and Installation

Stock audio unit in my Mazda has stopped working and I’m looking to get a new one in. Looking for something with Bluetooth and cheapest possible. I spoke with someone from Autobarn and they said I would be looking to form out upwards of $350 for the unit and installation.

Anyone know any cheaper alternatives?

From what I can see, the head unit seems to be custom made for the dash. That is where extra money goes, into modifying the dash to take a standard sized unit. The wiring bit shouldn't be hard.

You may need to look for a model specific stereo on ebay etc. then go all DIY.

  • Install it yourself - not that hard to rip out the current one and throw in a new one. Plenty of instructions online.

Then you just need to buy the head unit.

  • $350 is cheap if it includes installation, spacers, wiring and the unit.

  • Look on eBay for a faceplate. This is the name of the piece of plastic that allows you to use din sized stereos.
