It controls lights. Specifically the Nanoleaf light panels
But you'll also need this add-on for the lights for them to talk to this remote.
Not if you're using Apple HomeKit thought you will need a home hub i.e. Apple TV or HomePod.
EDIT: Sorry, I think I misread :P If you want to control the Leaf lights then yes. But this will work fine with Philips Hue, Lifx, or anything else HomeKit.
How can this be paired with Hue?
It is a controller that does presets. Selection is based on which side the "dice" sits on.
I bought a couple of sets of the lights. Good stuff. Pity it doesn't work online but I IFTTT against my Hue system.
How are you finding Hue? I've got a couple of third party lights which could be my problem, but I've found it to be a little flakey. I've got a schedule to turn the hall lights on and off at sunset/sunrise, and often enough to be annoying, it doesn't happen. I can see that the event has fired and the group should be on, but they aren't until I cycle it.
I've got a 2.4Ghz WiFi router right next to the bridge too, which might be swamping it a bit.
I had my hue hub next to my AP and it was a nightmare with dimmers and bulbs losing connectivity. Moving the hub 3m away helped considerably. Also adding more hue bulbs helps with the zigbee mesh.
Ah its like the xiaomi Mi Cube for the apple smart home hub thingy
Does work online, unlike most other lights… https://my.nanoleaf.me/control
This looks great, I’m hoping to teach my 2 year old to turn on and off lights that he can’t reach. Hopefully it works well!
Looks like a child's toy… Enjoy the random switching as it is rolled around😀
My 2 yr old loves the Mi cube for changing hue and Mi lights colours
I set home assistant to do random colours
What an awesome Price, I wonder how long it will last?
I ordered one straight away, I am going to use it to control the scenes with my Philips Hue lights in my lounge room as its a pain to have to open the app to set movie, dinner, etc scenes. Hopefully its worth it.
How will you connect it to Hue?
It is really easy it connects straight to Apple Home Kit. You can then select what Hue lights you want it to control from the Apple Home app or in the Nano Leaf app.
Oh ok so you need a Homekithub or an ios device that's constantly on. Could you use it with home assistant without a homekit hub or device?
Thanks for the deal, I was thinking about purchasing one the other day, glad I didn't!
Dodecahedron!
Seems to be none in stock so there is a special order for it. Website was quoting for 11/9/18 delivery date. I guess that isn't so bad at this price :P
I don't have the rhythm module though which is disappointing, I guess I'll have to fork out the extra $80 for it eventually, but should work nicely with Hue for the time being.
How do you make it work with the Hue hub?? Is it only via homekit?
What the hell is this? After reading the description I don't believe the marketing team knows either.
