(eBay) What to Do if You Are Not Comfortable Making a Sale?

A new buyer with zero feedback purchased one of my items.
She elected for click and collect from a parcel locker.
I have never sent to this service before but I can work that out as I go.

My main concern is that the buyer's ebay and paypal account are in two different names.
I emailed the buyer asking for clarification on this and for whom to address the parcel. She replied back (almost instantly) and explained that she will be at work and has organised for her "room mate" to collect the parcel.

However, her "room mate's" name is listed on the paypal account and the buyer's supposed name is listed on the ebay account. Therefore, addressing the parcel to the buyer leaves a loophole for a possible future dispute because the room mate can take the parcel and she can claim she never received it. Besides, I thought click and collect was supposed to offer convenience for buyers to collect in their own time.

Is it a breach of ebay/PPs terms and conditions to have two different names listed?
Perhaps I will just cancel the sale and find another buyer and take the inevitable negative feedback on the chin?

Something fishy might be going on here…

I suppose I just don't want to get scammed, especially when it comes to buyer repudiation and chargebacks.

Cancel the sale with the reason "something is wrong with the buyers address" and you will get an immediate refund of the EBay commission.
The block that particular buyer EBay name from making further purchases.

    • You're a legend, mate. TY :)

I sent this message to the buyer/scammer:
      "Hi,
I have spoken to paypal and unfortunately they will not honour seller protection as your ebay and paypal names are different. Also you do not have a fixed address and zero feedback so I don't feel comfortable going ahead with the transaction.
      Thanks for your understanding."

My understanding was that you always did whatever PayPal told you to do. As long as you send it to the details listed in PayPal I believe you will be alright.

There is always room for scams, just not in the way you are imagining.

Always ship to the paypal address, simple as that.
