I dont want to end up losing out and being refunded as some seller wont send with payment pending. The transaction was $1500 with $500 voucher saving, do sales of this value get auto flagged?

It was paypal that flagged the transaction because I used my bank account funds not my cc, it is resolved now thanks.
It depends on your account. Is the account fairly new? If so there can be a delay with processing. Especially when there are large sums involved. It also depends on the funding source. For example credit card via paypal may take a bit longer. I have had this happen before and it took about an hour or so to clear. If not and it still shows pending contact eBay and then paypal. EBay’s not going to lose their fees so wait and if it is still showing pending after an hour and then contact eBay first and then paypal. Ensure your payment details are correct - eg credit card number, address is correct billing address, expiry date etc.
It is my longstanding, in good standing account. Paypal has invoiced me, so I will contact ebay. I didn't want to hassle them if it was a normal occurrence.
It’s more to do with the number and frequency of transactions. For example I have an account that has only a few transactions and no defaults or issues however it takes a day or two longer than my other account that has about 500+ transactions a year to transfer money to my bank which is normally 24 hours or less. The more you transact on paypal the more “reliable” you appear to them. You can have a 10 year old account but if only a few transactions paypal may become suspicious

If funds for the purchase are coming from a bank account then PayPal will issue an e-cheque in favour of the seller and also tell the seller not to ship for 3-5 days until payment has cleared.
In the meantime the payment will show as pending on your accountThanks
