  Can these actually go under water and keep things dry? For example, my electronic car key…. What happens if I accidentally drop the bag into a river?

  The drawstring opening doesn't seem too watertight to me…?! Then again I've never used one of these before.

    Definitely not. Coincidentally bought a couple of these recently from Aliexpress, they’re like a drawstring gym bag made from a water resistant material. They’re not made to actually be submersed in water.

      Are they big enough for a gym bag? i.e. shoes, towel and drink bottle? the description makes it sound like maybe once a pair of shoes is in that's about max capacity.

        No - i purchased to throw my wet toiletries inside by gym bag just in case they leak. Here's the link to the ones i bought, they come in 3 different sizes however that one is the largest one
