Where to buy a Bed Frame in Sydney

Hi,

Do you have a go to place in Sydney to buy good bed frame? Being an Ozbargainer, obviously I am looking for good value. Dont mind paying bit extra if it's a good quality and can last at least 5+ years (10 is ideal).

Before anyone is suggesting Ikea, I actually bought one from Ikea however after I assembled it only to find out that the mattress does not fit into the Ikea frame!!
In my case, it is double bed/mattress, where the Sealy double mattress has a width of 137cm, while the Ikea bed frame only 135cm!
I thought they are all following standard sizing..
Such a waste of effort building it and now have to disassemble it to return.. Not happy.

Anyway let me know if you have some recommendations on where i should look for the bed frame. This time I need to ensure the sizing is correct..

    Sealy double mattress has a length of 137cm, while the Ikea bed frame only 135cm!

    I would've thought that a 2cm difference would be quite negligible.

    Did you try to push it or wiggle it around?

      Sorry it isn't the length but the width. Fixed in the post now.

      I tried to wiggle and push it in but no luck. The mattress is spring based and quite solid/heavy. Also Im afraid if I really force it, it may break the mattress.
      So currently one side sits on the bed frame base/the slats, while the other side sit on top of the actual side frame,creating uneven surface to sleep on.

      The ikea double mattress has the width of 135cm so it will fit the ikea bed frame, but I guess I cannot return the mattress and would prefer using Sealy vs Ikea mattress.
      Not sure if thats Ikea tactics so that people buy their mattress as well!

    I bought one from a second hand shop for cheap and it was amazingly sturdy. Try Facebook marketplace too.

      Facebook marketplace and Gumtree are the sources of some amazing bargains.
      Especially the "moving out" sales.
      Sellers are willing to part with their goods at very reasonable prices as the end of lease approaches.
