Collect 10,200 Bonus Flybuys Points When You Spend $170 (Points & Spend Amount Varies) @ Coles

650

I recevied this offer by email and had to put my glasses on to ensure I was reading it correctly. I hope it’s not a mistake or misprint as that’s a lot of bonus points for a single shop. It would equate to $50 when redeemed, or will speed you on your way to another reward.

After activating it showed up in my Flybuys app with the same number of bonus points. The T&Cs are generic to most other offers and don’t state the number of bonus points awarded, so they don’t invalidate it.

Edit: based on comments below Coles are targeting Flybuys members with offers of 60 bonus points per dollar spent. The only difference is the minimum spend amount.

Bit better than what I have from Woolies…

    • +7

Stop shopping at one of them for a while & they'll try to win you back with more points & less spend.

      • +3

meh, doesnt always work…i havent shopped at Coles for over a year now, and never targeted for extra points.

        so it's all luck!

      • +3

Ive never stopped shopping with them and get multiple offers week. I currently have about 40 activated offers. I also got a spend $180 get 10800 bonus points offer, ontop of a 4 week spend $140 a week for 10000 bonus points

    • A lot better in my case. Coles is only asking for $50/wk. Woolies is asking for $100/wk.

  • +2

I had an offer for 8400 points with a $140 spend. 8400 points put me upto 40,000 almost exactly so I wonder if that was their thinking behind it?

    • +1

      I got that offer too

    • I think so. I normally spend about $130. I got spend $150 for 9000 points

      • I also received the 9000 points offer if I spend $150. I also recieved 1000 points for $130. I wonder if I spend $150 i will get both?

        • +2

You should. I’ve stacked multiple offers before and it’s worked.

  • +3

I got 3000 points on $50 spend, that's pretty good!

    • That’s almost exactly the same number of points per dollar, but the minimum spend is much lower. I rarely get offers like yours, I expect Cokes knows my shopping habits and sends offers accordingly.

      • Yeah I hardly use my flybuys card, because I usually shop at Aldi and only ever use flybuys to get the 2000 point deals every so often, might just this deal because its a good return!

      • +1

Stop scanning your flybuys on every coles shop and do not pay using coles credit card. Their system will probably track you as a lost customer and will send you better offers. Always work for me and another friend

        • Nah you don't need to stop scanning your flybuys card. I still scan it but they will find that your spending has decreased dramatically so they will try to get you spend again with these offers.

My shopping in Coles decreased about 80-90% weekly. After a couple of months I started getting good offers which kept improving over time. I never stopped scanning my flybuys card.

        • +3

Just switch between a few different cards so that it looks like your spending has dropped.

        • @ely:

I also got the 3000 points on $50 spend, that's 30% off- best ever. On another account I got 10,000 points for $50 spend for 4 weeks. This is what I get regularly. I also have the same offer from Woollies right now. I alternate between 4 accounts for each and never go over $51 on these offers. Otften I will spend more but I will make it a separate purchase using a different rewards card. I read on another forum here that perhaps I should not use the same credit card each time as they will be able to track and perhaps not allow multiple accounts. But I have one card that has the best points earning rate. Does anyone know about this?

        • @Yola: it's definitely something that they could do, but I don't know whether it's something that they do do. What you're doing seems to be working out well for you, I wouldn't worry about it.

        • Use your coles credit card at Woolies & Aldi for a few weeks & speed the process up a bit.

        • No I do not have a Coles credit card but an Amex. That would be even worse. Concerned through that they can see the same card being used across several flybuys/rewards accounts.

    • I got the same too… I scan my Flybuys on every visit though…

I kept getting the "1000 points for a $50 spend" offer two weeks in a row (which I ignored) and got this offer the 3rd week…

    • I got that one as well. Did you also get the 100X points on the cherries?

  • +2

Coles want me to spend $70 a week for 4 weeks to earn 10,000 points.
Woolies want me to spend $50 a week for 4 weeks for 10,000 points.
No prize for guessing where I am shopping this month (with a Woolies Wish card of course).

    • $180 and $160 for me lately over 4 weeks

    • I have a coles one which is 4 * $50 for 10,000.

  • I got 7200 points on $120 spend.

    • close to mine, 7800 points on $130 spend. Need to do it by Tues as I didn't shop on the weekend

    • Same here.

  • +3

    I got 6600 point for $110 spend

    • Same here

      • Yep. Me too

    • Me too. So went in yesterday and inadvertently spent $160, the bastards. At least it means I won't have to do a major shop for weeks.

    • Me too. $33 credit for not doing much. I also have the 4 week offer of 10000 points for only spending $80 every week.

  • I got 10000 points for spending $50 every week for 4 weeks. This happened because it has been 3 months since I swapped Coles for Aldi. I still go to Coles to buy things I can't find or don't like from Aldi but most of my groceries are from Aldi.

In addition to that offer, I also have 3600 points if I spend $60 which expires in 2 days.

    • The latter is great, the same as my 3000 points for $50 spend.

    • After I did the $50 for 4 weeks they're now offering 10k if I spend $60 per week for 4 weeks.

      • Did you spend over the $50? If you did I wonder if this is the way they keep pushing the spend up gradually.I regularly spend only $50 or $51 and I keep getting the $50 offers.

        • I'm the same, spend $50.xx or $51 or $52 but only during offers, and they keep sending me the 4 weeks of $50 for 10,000 points. No Coles offer = most shopping done at aldi. And during an offer, I bring a couple of things I can take or leave (eg UHT milk, discounted pasta sauce, half price tuna cans), and as soon as I'm over $50 I just put any such optional items into the "to be returned to the shelf" basket.

        • Yep. Roughly I went $100, $50, $60, $50. I'm skipping this one though.

  • +1

Mine was 5,400 point for $90

  • Got nothing so far; just a spend $180 a week for four weeks to get 10 000 points … I don't ever spend that much in Coles in one go …

  • +4

Just looking at everyone's min spend vs points, it looks like its calculated that you get 600 points for every $10, so someone with a min spend of $50 for get $3000, $100 min spend 6000

    • +3

$3000 for a $50 spend would be amazing

  • +5

Just a tip: You can get exclusive app only offers you can activate if you download the flybuys app.

The other week I received an email offer for 3000 points on a $50 spend which I successfully stacked with an app offer of 2000 points on a $40 spend so I got a total of 5000 points back on a $50 shop!

    • I thought it will only apply one promo (preferably the one expiring soon). Thanks for letting me know. I will also activate both offers and shop.

  • Mine is 7,200 point for $120

  • 4200pts for $70 on top of a week 1 $50 qualifying spend (10000pts) + 5% off Coles cards is over 50% off…..Love Coles offers like these.

  • Got 2000 for $110 spend last week and 8400 for $140 this week.

  • My offer was 7200 for $120 spend. By the looks, they are basing it just higher than your usual average, as our fortnightly for this quarter was $110 spend.

  • 5400 for a $90 spend here

    • Got this one too. Good deal

  • I got spend $60 for 3600 points & spend $50 x 4 for 10,000. So $ 210 spend for 13600 points, not bad! It doesn't matter if I use flybuy points to pay for the spend right?

    • you can use the points to pay as they come off after the total is rung up.

  • 7800 for $130 spend for me

  • I got 4800 for $80

  • What if I activate two promos? Spend 40 and get 1000 flybuys and spend 50 and get 3000 flybuys? Will it only apply one? How does it work?

    • +2

Spend $50 and you get both.

    • both should apply if on the same flybuys account.

      • how do you tell if you have completed the first week? The receipt showed it had kicked in but I can't see anything on the flyby's site to confirm.

        • In my experience there is nothing on the site till completed but the usually the receipt says
          Congratulations
Just X more weeks to go
Your week X qualifying shop is registered

        • @Yola: Thanks for the reply. The receipt did show that the first week was done but this also was the same week as the 3500 point for $50 (which I got). I just hope that they have overlapped and I will take the receipt and complain if they don't give me the first week. The Woolies app is much better because it shows you when the first shop has been done and there is a chat facility so you can ask them if you are on track.

  • We get similar offers regularly. It’s annoying because we don’t drive it can be quite difficult to drag a big amount of groceries home on the train and plus we may not need that much each week. $50 is achievable mostly, but I’d prefer it if they added up your total shop over a week rather than having to do it all at once. Haven’t received this offer yet.

  • I have a bunch of kids, so I got 14,400 points for spending $240…

Rung though 2 extra formulas in the checkout to get me over the line. Spent $36 on stuff I would in a few weeks anyway to get $70 of fly buys.

    • is that spending $240 per week or over 4 weeks?

  • Got 6000points for $100 spending.

    • Yep same here. I normally get 2000 points for $100 + spend so this is very nice.

  • +1

I got 3600 points for $60 spend. Stacked up neatly with the spend $50 for 4 weeks get 10000 points.

  • +1

I got offered 10000 points for 4 x $120 shops over 4 weeks at Woolies. What a crock.

  • I never get targeted for these kinds of deals from any companies! I just got an email from Coles saying spend $220 get $20 off instead. I want my 10,200 bonus points!

  • +2

    This is my current offer

    Collect 10,000 BONUS POINTS
When you spend $60 or more in one shop
at Coles each week for 4 weeks
    Week 1 of 4: Fri 6 Jul to Sun 15 Jul 2018
Please note you have 10 days to shop in week 1.

Last month I had speed $50 a week cor 4 weeks and get 10000 points.

I have a coles mastercard I use for everything and I haven't redeemed any flybuys in almost a 8 months.

    You have
    113,398 points
    Redeemable for $566.99 flybuys Dollars

    • I got same offer. I spend $30 a week max.

      I’ve never spent any points.

      You have 197,949 points
      Redeemable for $989.75

      • Same here, 204.240 points.

    • Does your family know there is money there?

  • It won't include spend on EFTPOS gift cards or Opal Card recharge.. yeah?

    • I'd like to know as well.

      Their T&C stated

… excluding all gift cards, iTunes cards and smoking/tobacco product purchases.

which does not mention Opal top up. Can anyone shed some light on the matter? 🙏

    • +3

Opal top-ups will count; they always do for those weekly spend x and get y points offers, so I don't see why they wouldn't count in this scenario

      • Good to know. 👍

Do you know if we can use Coles eGift card to pay for Opal top up? 🙏

        • +1

          I don't see why you can't. Opal top-ups aren't gift cards

        • +1

can confirm, have done opal topup with 5% off egift cards to get the min spend on promos

have not run into any issues at all

  • +1

I didn’t get this offer but on Thurddsy I got spend $70 x 4 and get 10,000 points. I’d like to get it down to $50 or $40 (if that’s possible?). I activated it but prob won’t go through with it. I spend $30 normally per week (single gal). $60 is a big stretch.

  • +1

Where did you receive this offer, OP? In your email or did you see it in your Flybuys account when you logged in?

    • I received it by email. I didn’t think to check the Flybuys app on my phone first (which is pretty much the same as logging in online), but in hindsight that would’ve been a good idea. As pointed out above, the phone app sometimes has exclusive offers that don’t come through email, too, and they always stack, so if you want to generate points quickly the app is handy to have.

      • Thanks. I hardly get these offers, may be because I already shop at Coles almost every week and sometimes twice a week.

        • Yeah same here; I only get the spend $70 and get 2000 points between Wednesday and Friday types

  • +1

I got 3,600 points for $60. Not bad.

  • Got one from coles and Woolworths. Woolworths is 2000 more points and does not rely on one shop where you try to work out if you have the right amount of stuff

  • I got 15,000 points for $120.

  • lol my offer is spend $200 for 4 weeks to get 10,000 points. Guess I've been running those points up for awhile now!

  • +1

I usually get these offers (and have been coverting them to Velocity - 500,000 now!) and I didn’t get anything. I have deliberately dropped the amount I spend at Coles in the last couple of months as I knew one of these would be coming up.

  • +1

Just a minor word of warning. When you are starting a new offer make sure you spend enough to counter for any auto redemption. I regularly switch between Coles and Woolie’s and get various offers. If you are, say, going back to Coles to spend another $50 for 4 weeks to get another10,000 points, you may need to spend over $100 so that if there is an auto redemption of $50 you have still spent $50 to meet the next round of offers. Does that make sense!!

    • +3

This is why when you have the choice of $50 off or 10,000 fly buys points you pick the 10,000 fly buys points. Then convert those to $ and spend when you don't have an offer.

  • +2

A couple of months ago I was on the $50 x 4 spend for $50 back. Now it's $60 x 4. For me, 4 weeks of $50 was already pushing it (buying things that keep and were cheap so I had a stockpile to burn through after). Not sure I should even try for their bait…

I suspect they have something like a 70% chance to increase the spend if you took the offer last time, 30% chance to drop it if you haven't. That way not shopping doesn't guarantee you'll get better offers, to try and stop people gaming it.

  • Haven't shopped regularly from Coles in a while since I find Woolies has the better organic range of items but with home loan rates going up and other increased property associated expenses, the 4x $50 weekly spend for 10k points plus 3k points for a $50 spend this week has gotten me back to Coles.

In comparison, Woolies have been asking $80+ for 4 weeks for 10k-12k points for a fair few months now… I haven't jumped on any of them but they keep asking these ridiculous weekly spends from some in a single household. The peeps at Woolies really need to get a dose of reality.

  • Mine was 10,000 pts for spending $230 a week for 4 weeks

    Guess I won't be getting that 10,000 pts !

  • Mine is 13200 points if I spend $220 before Tuesday 10/7/18

    • That is excellent $66 off = 30% same ratio as my 3000 points for $50 spend.
This is best offer I have seen. Some people use gift cards for another 4 or 5% off.
      As OP stated
Edit: based on comments below Coles are targeting Flybuys members with offers of 60 bonus points per dollar spent. The only difference is the minimum spend amount.

      • Me. I use gift cards all the time at Coles. Last time I bought them they were at 6% discount.

      • Family shop done this arvo by my wife. 2 adults and 4 kids on school holidays so $220 was an easy target

        • Points arrived two days later.

  • $50 for spending 170 x4 is not much at all
