Need to do an optus to amaysim port soon and need to go through a third ISP to speed up the process. Vodafone now require X dollars recharge before activation can proceed. Any other free options available? Is Telstra still free? Thanks for any advice.

There are incoming legislation changes
Vodafone has chosen not to wait for them to take effect, but all $2 sims will require some form of recharge starting i think Oct 1 this year.
Optus is going to phase the $2 sims out and just sell starters with credit already loaded
No indication what telstra or others will do, most likely just like Vodafone require a recharge at time of activation.It has not been widely reported in press, i suspect it will be when the changes are getting closer.
Lycamobile, order the free sim online and it is delivered to you. Though sometimes my sim has gotten lost / not received before.

Telstra, Boost (valid for 6 months from activation date). I think Optus also but you have to activate it via the online chat to avoid buying credit.
For Telstra network have you tried it yourself? Because I couldn’t find the exact info on their website
Yes and have even talked to Boost customer service on the phone and they confirmed the same thing.
@PLA74: @sagrules: You can order one of those free $2 telstra sims on this previous deal. I ordered one yesterday afternoon and it was here this morning with Toll overnight.
just activated my free $2 telstra sim yesterday. You'll need to fill in all the identification details through the online activation link, choose the type of prepaid (i chose day to day) and it will activate straight away. They will ask you to top up you can ignore it and still receive calls and sms
Isn't there free Telstra SIMs or do they have to be activated/credited to work?
