Coke, Sprite, Fanta Minis 8-Pack for $5.78 @ Big W

87

Just the right size. You get 8 x 200ml cans. Normally they go for about $7. The tag might have the old price but if you scan it you will see. Bargain? Maybe. Pls don't compare the price to the 375ml can, that's not fair! :)

  • no bargain

    • This guy has just made the most useful comment in the history of ozbargain.

      • bargain?

replying to the question he put out there

        • :)

        • +1

You dont get it. He was politely suggesting that you explain why its no bargain. Doh

We instigated the need to explain a negative vote so it helped people. Simply putting no bargain is frankly dumb. the negative vote in itself says that.

          Hence the "useful comment" comment….

I like this size too, but they are such a rip.

Overseas I used to buy this size in the supermarket individually, they were as cheap as chips.

    • Agreed but thanks to OP

    • Looked it up out of interest. The cans I used to buy were only 150ml (really small!) and are now 36p (57c) each, so they are even more rip-offy as this deal. They were easy to carry though when you don't have any transport apart from your own self.

  • wow what a rip off for only 200ml cans.. thats 1.6L for $5.78.. you could get about 3 1.5l bottles for that price lol..

    • +2

Yeah but when you down a 1.5L bottle in 1 day so that it dont go flat = Stomach lining fail

  • People actually buy these packs? They are such a rip off. Unless you drink 200ml of coke once a week or something buying a 1.25 or 2l bottle is heaps better.

    • About 50c a can is a good bargain - This does not seem to stack up!

      • About 50c for a 375ml can. Even if this 200ml can was 50c each it wouldn't be a bargain

        • either safeway or coles (cant remember) had 48, 375ml cans for about $24 this week
          now thats a good deal……

  • 200ml is too small. I've picked up some 300ml bottles at woolies on special this week and even they are almost too small.

anyway, just focusing on the deal - 70 cents for a 200ml can is too expensive. there is no value in that and not a bargain. Also if normal price is $7 then post something if the price goes under $4… until then there is no relative bargain

  • Shocking ripoff, may as well delete the thread all together.

      but they're soooOOOooo cute!! :D

  • These remind me of the "handy can" when i was a teenager in the mid 70's
and they were only 10c then :)

Before you neg, note it's an almost universal truth that larger sizes will be cheaper by volume. With that in mind, can anyone show the same product cheaper elsewhere?

    • +1

This wouldn't even be a bargain if it was that price for 375ml cans. You can sometimes get them for 50c each.

      • exactly, you don't expect to get a 2L bottle cheaper than a 1.25L. I don't expect to get 375ml cheaper than 200ml.

But all these comparisons aside, the fact is that if the normal price is $7 then yes this is cheaper but i don't consider any softdrink a bargain unless it starts heading closer to 50% off.

        • It's funny that you say that, one time in a little IGA quite a while back, I saw that the Coke was on Special all sizes but the 600 ml. The Cost per bottle (not per liter) was in the Order from Most Expensive, 600ml, 1.25L, 2L, 3L.

I could not understand how that made any logic at all.

Everything has a convenience charge these days!

Seriously they are the perfect size for me at lunch with my sandwich. I got one pack and being a bargain hunter couldn't do it again. Too expensive only thing is I feel bad dropping half a can in the bin. But when I could get 24 cans of pepsi max at 46c a can I have to.

It is a cheap price for this product.

    • You lie!! In Bankstown someone would catch it before it even hits the bin so it can't be a waste!!!

      • Campbelltown, Blacktown, pretty much anywhere west of Moore Park. I'm probably quick enough that I'll catch even if it drops in Bondi.

  • Pls don’t compare the price to the 375ml can, that’s not fair! :)

It is fair as it's is the best product to compare it against as no other company has a 200ml can

  • Surely those who have tried these little cans will testify that it tastes better than a 375ml can! (Just like cans taste better than bottles)

    • yeah fat people aren't as tasty

  • These were two for $10 at Franklins not long ago, and I still thought it was a complete ripoff. 200ml doesn't even wet the tongue. Even a 5 year old I know drinks 375ml coke with ease, so who exactly is this for? It's not even a standard serving size of Coke. (That's 250ml).

  • Terrible value.

  • 1.6 litres of coke for $5.78!!!

  • At the price you'd be better off buying 375 ml cans and throwing it away after drinking 200 ml (if you can). This deal should go in ozripoff.com.au. :)

    • lol.. I suppose if you absolutely positively have no space to spare in your bag but need a drink then it could be ok :P
