Is the base battery operated or something?

    • it says 2200W in the specs, must be plugged in otherwise I couldn't think any battery could supply that kind of power :)

      • Yeah i was like, " Cordless Kettle " the f?

Most kettles are still named that way, it just means the kettle itself isn't connected to anything.
It's a pretty stupid convention because literally every kettle is like that.

        • @sinewaves7:

Yeh i gathered that part, i just haven't really seen it used in alot of descriptions.

Dont think iv ever seen a kettle with a cord attached to the jug.

        • @Avacardooo Rayy Mee: I have a small travel kettle which is still corded. Other than that, yep, even the $7.5 Kmart kettle is now 'cordless'.
          I've removed it from title.

I have this kettle and paid $129 for it, and an extra $129 for the matching toaster doh

It looks nice when left our on the bench, that's 99.99% why we got it.

The spout will absolutely piss you off, it pours out very wide and without a clear indicator (the spout is part of the lid so the direction is indicated by a tiny, hard-to-see laser etched aluminium arrow on the top plate)

isn't as loud as some not as quiet as others.
doesnt have temperature controls so kindof annoying to "feel it" when pouring tea or aeropress coffee.

if it were not for the aesthetics , this is a no-buy.
My neighbour has the same one and shares his hate for it whenever he visits - haha

but .. its absolutely worth 50 bucks, solid build etc etc ..

  • Might be a good spot to ask about KG Electronic.
Looking at buying an av receiver from them. Are they good with service? Warranties etc?
