We purchased a Olympus V104190RA000 TG-5 Red Digital Camera on a posted deal here for $428
It needs a memory card. Any recommendations what I should buy I understand some cards are faster than others does this matter when using it in a camera?

Speed - Unless you're taking video (not sure about the video capability of your model), Class 10 is good enough.
Capacity - 32gb is only good if you're studio shooting and have a PC to offload regularly. If you're doing 100-200 photos a day, weeklong trups without an offload device, you'll be fine with 128gb saving in RAW.
Get one of the many evo plus cards (64gb+ - the 32gb are slower) that are posted daily.
