I have this TV. I'll admit, it was better than I expected it to be. I upgraded from a 42" JVC TV. It does not support HDR, but does output in 4K. Downside can be some of the glare as the brightness isn't amazing, but it does the job. I've been using it for about a year now for an Xbox One X and Nintendo Switch, looks okay. The upscaling is not terribly great unfortunately however.

    • Seems like a good price but is this really good for a Xbox One X in 4k Mode? Any lag? My hisense i have atm is 4k but doesnt support any 4k resolutions above 24hz which is useless for the xbox. Any lag and how is the picture dark? Im wondering whether or not this would be a good upgrade for a cheap price.

Got this on a deal last year.

Great value for money but just be aware that the curve does impact viewing angle if you wanted it in the lounge room and watching from the kitchen, and the blacks aren't deep.

Good colours though and easy to use.

Otherwise awesome value for what it is.

Thanks for the information. Do you remember if yours displays a Kogan logo on the screen during boot?

I have the same and mine does display logo on boot. boot up takes good 10 seconds

        Yes

Anyone know what the input lag is like on PS4/Switch?

  • $90 more gets you the 55' 8* series model, which looks more appealing IMO. It's not curved & importantly has HDR.

I've been looking at the Series 8 MU8010 one for a while, but apparently the HDR is a non-factor because the panel doesn't have enough contrast for you to benefit.

      • Good to know. I’m in the market for a 55’ 4K TV but HDR is the main drawcard for me. I really wish I’d pulled the gun on the N7 Hisense. Their new P models are considerably more pricey.

        • Yeah my main TV died so I'm looking at Kogan as a cheap interim TV until I buy a Q9 later in the year. Thinking I should be able to get something for $500-700 that will live happily in my bedroom down the track.

I imagine you'll have to put your budget up if HDR is really important to you.

  • How is this with gaming in regards to input lag?

  • The same TV that comes bundled with a Google Chromecast has also been dropped accordingly down to $589: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-55-curved-4k-led-tv-serie…

I suspect we'll see some more price drops over the next 48 hours.
