  • Looks like out of stock of young Henry’s now. Good deal on other beers though. Cheers.

    • I had some sitting in my cart which I removed. Be quick and grab it. Went in seconds..

  • Does the free 6 pack get added to your cart? The promo says when beer is included so does that mean I can buy one beer and fill the cart with something else and I will still be eligible or does the whole order have to be on beer?

    • Looks like they are out of stock. Knowing them they might add some more tomorrow.

Update: They have added more stock - deal is back on.

      confirmed, i just ordered

      • Enjoy!

  • Is this available only to new customers?

The free 6 pack is for existing/new the $25 off code is for new accounts.

      • Ok, thankyou

A slab each of Little Creatures Bright Ale and Furphy plus the free 6 pack for $80.90, can't complain! Thanks, OP.

    • You're welcome! Little Creatures Bright smells like feet but tastes so good. If you haven't noticed give it a sniff. Never tried the Furphy.

  • How is canned Newtowner? Flavour has been hit and miss for me from taps, but I assume that's down to staleness.

    • It's free beer - that always tastes better.

      • Are you offering to front up with $70 for me?

        How generous! 😘

Always check the date on packaged beer (less of an issue with styles like sours and stouts/imperial stouts). Some breweries are printing Canned On etc dates these days, but not all. With Best Before, you want to be getting Pales and IPAs within 3 months of production. Any longer and you lose the fresh hop characteristics / they fade. Still drinkable but beer geeks will turn their noses up at them.

Problems with tapped beer could vary. Could be poor/infected batches or individual kegs from the breweries. Could be old kegs. Poor temperature regulation during transport etc (I know YH leave their filled kegs outside, unrefrigerated). Could be dirty lines of the actual venue. Could be seasonal variation (say with stuff like sours / fruit filled beer like from Batch who do releases each year or season).

Boozebud have had a bit of trouble with sending out either out of date or very nearly out of date pales, IPAs, hop-heavy beer etc. If you suspect your beer isn't fresh, email them and they should compensate with a voucher or something similar.

Wow, that was a much better answer than I could've hoped for! Usually when I ask a question on OzBargain I get either negged or an irrelevant response. We need more people like you.

Age and cleanliness of the venue could be factors. The flavourful Newtowner venue is the most posh sailing club in the country where everything is meticulously polished. The dingy Newtowner venue has a strip show on Friday nights and mostly serves Carlton Draught and VB.

        • My only areas of expertise (and I use that term lightly) are: beer, birds, and bunnies.. so I get pretty excited about questions relating to those topics :P

Use Untappd (either via website or download the app) to search for specific brews or venues. Great app that is very popular and reasonably user friendly.

So you can look up a beer, and with a few extra clicks you can see where it's available, either on tap or packaged. Depends on the venue/bottle shop - some are 'verified' and update their tap lists and packaged craft lists religiously which is great.

Alternatively you can follow certain venues and choose to get notifications sent to you whenever they add a beer or event, etc.

Have a browse of it. Lots going on in it.. but be wary of people's reviews of beers on there. Such a subjective thing, a great beer for you might get low votes and vice versa.

Balter XPA a great beer if you're into more fruity beers, defiantly worth a shot (might be a bit bias as I also think its cool its made just down the road from me)

    • They have it on tap at a place called Kipling Garage Bar in Turramurra NSW for $7. My go to brew and place ATM. A long way from QLD but good for those in NSW.

I've probably been there at the same time. Good joint.

Thanks OP! Tried out a few of the Hope beers. $33 off & a free six pack - sweet!

  • Single Fin is top 5 beer as per craft beer awards. 2 slabs (48) for $91 with new customer deal. Plus 6 free Newtowners. $1.68 a beer. Not bad.

    • Gage Single Fin is lowly rated on Ratebeer though

    Cheers op.

Thanks, great deal. I got 42 bottles for $75.39 including a case of Red Back which I haven’t had in years.

  • Or, for us adelaide folk, a case of coopers pale and sparkling for $75.40… :)

Thanks OP. Got a bunch of stuff.

What a ripper of a deal!!!

Thanks OP! Great combo deal by boozebud here.

Also stacks with 10% off two or more IPA/pale 4/6 packs.

  • Free 6 pack seems to be sold out?

    • +3

they seem to be in stock but not for free anymore?

  • Nice selection of beers you got there. I used that $25 off code a little while back and scored a carton of Squid Rising for $100… could not believe my luck. Was paying around $26 for 4 pack at most local craft shops and that was IF they let you get more than a 2 can limit. Was sold out online shortly after that, must have taken all the stock…. whoops… but scoooorreee!

  • Delivered. They look glorious in the fridge.

    • That was fast, weds-thursday delivery estimate here.

  • Surprisingly, out of the options I got, the Young Henry's are turning out to be a new favorite of mine.
