Wait… I thought discounts increase as you buy more… not less?

    • The less you buy the sooner they can screw you over on the renewal.

    • Shhhhhhh…..

    • Yes, but Afilias has weird rules and are currently running a promotion on only 1 year registration hence why it's so cheap compared to others.

  • Wouldnt 4 years be $40 and 5 years $51?

    • We have tried to pass as much savings on to the customers as possible, hence it's weird reading it. Afilias has a funny way of pricing their TLDs

      • 4 years is $7 + 3x$11 = $40 right?

        • No, the $7 is for one year registration only, that promotion is run by Australian Registry currently, we are just passing it on to our customers just like everyone else is I believe.

        • @rippahost:

Yes, but 4 years is $39 or $40?

        • @Crownanchor: It's $39, if you use the code

      • Also your just a new business (sole trader) since May this year, is it safe?

        • Yes, it's completely safe since our partner Synergy Wholesale has been business for extensive amount of time.

  • Didnt know you could do 1 year.AU registrations

    • +1

You can now with the change of the new registrar as of 1st of July

    • +1

Yes, since 1st July, .AU Domains can be registered for 1-5 years and is administered by Afilias now.

  • .com.au yeah?

    • Yes .com.au, .net.au, .asn.au, .org.au and id.au all are the same prices

      • but not .au ?

        • No sorry there is no such TLD as yet, when mentioned .au in the post, it is meant all domains within that family

  • what is a "Registrant ID" … drivers license? is this publicly shown?

    • Your ABN

      • Really because that info seems to go under the

Eligibility Type: ( which would be ABN )

but then what are these going to be .. fells like the same info just gets repeated??
        Eligibility Name: business name?
        Eligibility ID: ABN again?
Eligibility ID Type: Guess its ABN ?

        Very confusing and unclear.

        • Sorry, we have already identified this mix up and yes you do have to repeat the ABN twice as Eligibility and Registrant ID, this will be fixed shortly.

        • @rippahost:
Your websites a bit allover the place code wise your developer needs to learn the basic bootstrap grid layout better, I see a lot of over laping content due to rows without containers.

Also when creating an account I get the default WHCMS intro message from may 25th - very useful.

        • @Elijha: We are working on the WHMCS template and further updates will remove all the bootstrap issues.

  • how many emails can you forward? unlimited?

    • Yes, within the dashboard you can set rules for as many forwards as you like example if you create three email addresses using your domain name, you can forward them all to your personal email or work email without any limitations.

  • Your ABN number on your own WHOIS and in the footer is for a soletrader that isn't GST registered yet you're charging GST on checkout, that's illegal.

Also you're just a reseller for Synergy Wholesale, might want to remove your nsw justice email from their partner page.

    • Please go to this link https://abr.business.gov.au/ABN/View?id=78766583047 scroll down and you will find the registered business name.

As for the GST, this straight from the Australian Business Register:

"Goods and services tax (GST) is a broad-based tax of 10% on most goods, services and other items sold or consumed in the indirect tax zone.

You must register for GST if:

you run a business or other enterprise and your GST turnover is $75,000 or more (for non-profit organisations the threshold is $150,000 or more)
you are a taxi driver, regardless of your turnover.
If you run a business or other enterprise and your GST turnover is less than $75,000, registering for GST is optional."

      • +1

From the very same ATO page,

"If your GST turnover is under $75,000 and you don't register for GST, you won't include a GST component in your prices. This means that any invoices you provide will need to show that GST was not included in the purchase price. You also can't claim GST credits for your business purchases."

So my point about charging us GST still stands, you can't.

        • "If you're not registered for GST, check each month to see whether you've reached the threshold, or are likely to exceed it. If your turnover exceeds the relevant threshold, you must register within 21 days of reaching it.

You only register once for GST, even if you operate more than one business.

If you don't register for GST and are required to do so, you may have to pay GST on the sales you have made since the date you became required to register. This could happen even if you did not include GST in the price of those sales. You may also have to pay penalties and interest."

    • Also you're just a reseller for Synergy Wholesale, might want to remove your nsw justice email from their partner page.

Yep they are and I also saw that email address when I looked it up earlier today you might want to get that changed in Synergy Wholesale you should be using a email address at your own domain name for that field.

You can change that by using the drop-down menu at the top right and choosing "Account Options" —> "OPTIONS" You can continue to use this email address for the account under "CONTACT INFORMATION" as that's for you in Synergy.

The reason why you should use an email at your domain name for this field is the automated emails are sent out to clients from that email address. It's also shown to clients if they look up your domain names or their domain names here. and is designed to point them in the direction of who to contact regarding the service in question.

Thanks tonyduffe, it has since been updated, that existed even before we had bought our domain name and forgot to update it ever since.

  • My .au domain registered and hosting with Crazy domain. If it registered with you, does it need to host by you
And it still got 4 month to expired, do I lost that 4 month with Crazy domain?

    • No, you will not loose those 4 months they will carry over to our system, when you ask to transfer your domain, you will need to unlock your domain from their system and get your EPP code in order to transfer. Please beware the prices above are only for new registrations, transfers are completely free and renewal for .au domain will cost you $11/year.

If you require assistance with the transfer please email us at [email protected] and we can do it for you.

      • A couple things to clarify any time that you currently have on your domain name will come with you. And transfers in most situations are free. From my understanding you also will not be eligible to do the renewal yet as there has to be less than 90 days on the domain name.
