Best way to buy a B&W Zeppelin Air

Hi OZBargainers,

Just wondering what is the best way to get a B&W Zeppelin Air?
It is going to release in March in the states, likely in Aussie about April - May.

It was told that the new Zeppelin Air price the same as the old Zeppelin, which cost $999 in Austrlia, and $600 in the states. With the advantage of Aussie dollar, is it better to have it shipped from US? Or is there any good bargain locally here?

Thx

  • Just wait and see for the actual prices

  • It's out now, priced $799

  • I shopped around and couldn't find any shop selling it for less than $799…:(

Got a newsletter from ordio the other day saying they offer free shipping and a free bonus. Not particularly interested in the bonus but their review seems original:

if anyone happens to know where I can get it cheaper, let me know thanks!

  • Apple store AU is selling AUD$ 799.95
Apple store US is selling USD $599.95 = AUD $560 (As of today 15/6/2011)

Why we are paying so much more just because we are in Australia???

    • One reason is the Australian approval costs and special short production runs to make AU-compliant products. Remember - it is illegal to sell "portable" (plug-in) products that have not been locally tested and approved.

Also remember that suppliers know that there are certain number of people who are "early adopters" and will pay an excessive price to be "first".

The key to good bargain hunting is to NOT buy desireable electronic or computer devices the moment that they are released. Prices almost never increase for consumer electronics - do generally there is no WORSE time to buy than on "day one".

  • wait and see.

  • Just thinking if it worth to use US parcel forwarding to buy it from US.
Not sure if the delivery cost can be covered by that $200 difference, especially I believe the box would be like 10Kg heavy…
