The recent Woolworths deal triggered my memory of seeing these earlier today but not bothering to post. Looks like a very good deal for AA Energizers at only 40c each.

  • Damn no stock near me

    • Yeah, just noticed that too. Only limited stock for C&C. Sorry :(

Still a reasonable price if going for the three pack limit and paying the combined postage of $8.98 as each pack is then $10.99 delivered Still not too bad for anyone needing bulk AAs!

I've still got NiMH rechargables from 2004 - why would people buy these single use things?

    • +1

Seriously? They don't last forever, what capacity did they start at, and what are they at now?

    • What brand would those be?

Personally I'm tired of spending more on rechargeables that expire and have to be thrown out than I would on primaries.

I try to use only lithium-ion powered devices if I can though because (rechargeable) lithium-ion batteries genuinely do last a long time.

      • Energizer 2300 mAh. I label them in sets. One out of four is failed. I haven't coddled them - charge them randomly and am surprised when they keep going.

  • Well spotted OP.

  • I'm sure there was a better deal at the Post Office the other day when I was there. Originally thought I saw $9.99 for 50 but it might have been $19.99 I'm not sure..

Has anyone seen these at the PO counter?

    • $10 for 50!?! Whoa, now that would be a bargain.

      • Yeah it was early in the morning and I was uncaffeinated so not sure if I saw right.. there was 10 AAA batteries for $9.99 and a few packs of 50 AAs but can't remember if they were the same price or not.

Probably too good to be true though ay?

Might be worth a trip to confirm. Stranger things have happened…

      it's Eveready AA 50pk/AAA 20pk for $9.99

      • So close!

      • Oh right thanks for fixing that up :)
But hey, batteries are batteries right?

  • +4

Any reason why these are better than Varta from Bunnings?

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/varta-aa-alkaline-batteries-30-p…

    • +1

Whether accurate or not Energizer are generally considered the gold standard. IIRC the Varta do score very well in testing.

  • +4

I’ve bought so many OzBargain Eneloops that I’ll never need to buy batteries again.

  • +3

Rechargable batteries seem like a much better deal for the long run, plus it's better for the environment.

    • +1

Except for the small minority of poorly-designed devices that won't run properly, or for long on 1.2V rechargeables, and need that extra .3V

  • (edit) never mind..no stock. :)

  • +1

    Energizer Oi!

  • Any AAA deal?

  • +1

I bought them C&C but could only buy 2 lots of Qty 1 at a time. Will be good enough but just in case someone wanted more and got an eBay error - this is probably why,

  • Price-matchable at Officeworks? (Even though this original deal expired)
