Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on what time their savings account interest is deposited into their ING Savings account. Mine always seems to come in around 7am on the 1st of the month but is backdated in my transaction history to the previous day. I got in touch with ING and they say it is always made just before midnight on the last day of the month.
Implications for me is that I did my tax return on Sunday at 6am and hadn't got the interest yet so put in one value, but now have to make an amendment to account for the backdated interest from June.
I'm impressed with your eagerness. I would always wait a few days to let the banks do their thing.
Apparently the ATO doesn't expect pre-filled information (where available) to be up-to-date until early August (https://www.ato.gov.au/Individuals/Lodging-your-tax-return/I…).
