The two embedded videos towards the end need to be watched until the end (you can fast forward). The others just need the tab opened, twitter entries were automatic for me.

    Thanks gnv9

Does this mean you need to pay for duties and GST when/if you win as its a uk comp?

    • I went to the Aussie Tax Office and all I could find so far is an out of date page concerning GST on imports - https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/GST/In-detail/Rules-for-spec…
This line (or something very similar) is all I have found so far when searching elsewhere - legislation to impose a 10% GST on low-value imports purchased from online overseas sellers from 1 July
So from my very limited understanding of import GST, as it is a prize and was not paid for (gifted or donated), plus it is not for sale (imported with the intention to sell) that it theoretically should be GST free. The GST is meant to help protect Australian businesses from cheaper overseas manufacturers, but it does not affect Aussie businesses as it is a prize. There was no monetary exchange taking place, so how can GST be applied? It should fall under the same rules as if you win a lottery - no tax directly on the winnings. Well my fingers are crossed in the hope this is the case, but knowing our tax department, it will probably be on everything.
A friend of mine won a prize from an overseas Gleam comp (a $200 Thermaltake Keyboard) a few months back and it came with a receipt showing $0 for the value (thus 10% of $0 = $0 GST??). Hopefully, more competition prize givers do the same.
What we need is a test case where someone wins one of these OS comps and then lets us know what happens.
If I win I will definitely let you know.
