I was searching for a cheap domain name. It was an expired domain I owned a few years back and I only need it for emails. Of course, there was Godaddy, but I couldn't buy another 99 cent one. I came across this place where the website looks cruddy. I was hesitant but was willing to risk the big money on it. It was an easy process. I left the domain overnight and checked it the next morning and it all works.

  seems fishy

  they say their usual .com price is US$6.00

  also on the contact page it says
  AUSTRALIAN DATA CENTER
  1380 Pacific Highway
  Turramurra NSW 2074
  AUSTRALIA

  which is a shopping plaza

  and it refers to domainsweb.com and this site looks dodgy as (the about us page says "testing") and has a pakistan phone number
