Solar Panel/System Installation Recommendation [Vic]

Quite new to solar panels, but I am looking for a 3-5 kW system that is Battery compatible
with an inverter that is (hopefully) made in Germany rather than China. If it is too pricey
being made in Germany, then of course China made would be fine too. As for the panels, am not
too picky about where it's manufactured.

Please share your insights and experiences, things to look out for when asking the sales people,
and things I should consider. Very firm on getting one, so please no comments on 'alternatives'…
just pure solar panel installation guides tips and tricks 101

    Paid $6600
    - 25 Panel Jinko Panels
    - Fronius Inverter
    - Solar Gain Company

    Things to consider

    • Consider only Tier 1 Products, I got the Hyundai quality vs BMW Premium - Jinko Panel ,Fronius Inverter

    • Consider only Reputable company for Warranty, Repair, Support Issues - Solar Gain

    • Consider Energy company that have competitive electricity rate and Feed in Tariff - AGL

    • Forget about Battery, the economic is not there yet. Payback dosent cover warranty period

    • Consider Installing Hot Water Tank + Solar Panel + Hot Water Diverter (Paladin) - Paladin Diverter
Heating is the biggest energy consumption of them all

    • The return on a hot water diverter is about $5 a week. So post install it's not really as superb investment. I would rather hold off for a battery install in 3 years.

Plus, poster is in Vic so likely has gas Hot water anyway.

      • For my case, my property has no access to Gas Pipeline
Had no choice but to either electric tank or electric instant
When with 3rd option, the hot water tank act like a battery for the excess PV

That doesn't seem cheap at all.

      • Tier 1 Solar Panel Jinko 27OW
        Tier 1 Fronius Primo 8.2 - 1

Suitable for my 8 Room Student Accomodation property

Expensive because i invest heavily on a Higher Volt Inverter, in case i need to add panel in the future

Research and pick a reputable solar installer. I deal with installers on a daily basis chase them up for paperwork and hearing stories where they've either closed shop and/or don't reply to their customers are all too common

    • Three more solar companies just went bust this week. So good luck chasing them for warranty.

      • Which ones? Source?

I just.. well my housemates have just signed on with Eurosolar.. no idea who the installer is or supplier etc No idea who Eurosolar is tbh atm.. just hearing about them now.. ah well can't be that bad, what is the worst that could happen to me in the next couple of years.. disconnected while steam gaming or watching youtube or no hot water while showering during the day haha lol

        • Eurosolar? Good luck with them. You guys will need it.

        • @nsfx84: it's out of my hands now I have washed myself of it.. whatever the housemates plan to do with them is their business now and not mine I have told them that.

Warned them a few times already but if they want to take a gamble it's their choice.
