  • how is the quality of this one if anyone used it?

    • Reviews are good. Check previous deal comments. I am zeroing on this as I need 2 dashcams. But still open for all suggestions.

    • I have two of them, in my own opinion, they are better than my old BlackVue DR400G-HD II.

      • hi OP, do you know what micro SD card class does this require by any chance ?

        • +1

I picked up a Sandisk Ultra UHS-1 from Amazon (before the eBay deals started), which works with this cam. Be warned that the camera only works with cards up to 64GB and nothing more. Furthermore, to get the 64GB card to work you need to format it to FAT32 which you need to download a small program for (GuiFormat - easy to use, safe).

          @silverwings:

The camera will also format the card for you. Ended up doing that through the app.

        • @silverwings: Thanks mate. I may get the 32GB since this dashcam does loop recording.

        • @neil: I tried putting in the card right away without formatting and it wouldn't recognise. Kept making a loud beeping noise. Once I formatted it properly it was able to record. This is only for 64GB, smaller sizes should work right away according to the manual.

I bought from this seller last deal. Good quality videos. So far good

  • Thanks Ops. Buying one. Now I need to find a SD card deal.

  • The reviews seem a bit suss. All 5 star ratings?? Was curious so went further and checked one reviewers profile (manith) and he’s given only 5 star ratings for about a dozen other products. All with similar styles of review.

    Must be a paid promo.

  • anyone know of a 2 channel (front and rear) version equivalent?

"NOTE - Be aware when you connect your dash cam for first use, do not connect to any external power source instead of car cigarette lighter socket; So plug straight into your car not other laptop USB socket power source."

What is the reason for this?

    • I think it has something to do with the Wifi connection, it seems to want the car lighter for the initial setup (maybe more power?)
At first I had trouble connecting from my phone wifi when plugged in via USB but after setting it up via the car, I was able to use the USB power afterwards.

    • i connect to laptop USB for first use. I downloaded the app on phone checked all good. Then only I installed in car

  • This is a good deal as it's being sent from their AU warehouse instead of overseas. So far, so good with the camera. I'll have to grab some raw footage and upload it here eventually.

  • But it's $4 more than the last deal! Does that make me a bad OZBer if I buy one :)

  • damn it! forgot the AMAZON20 code

Only works for items sold and fulfilled by Amazon I believe?

    • Doesnt work on this item

    100% claimed

  • Are lightening deal's usually limited to a quantity of 1 ? Tks

  • My god I missed the deal again

  • Do you just use a double sided tape to stick it on the windscreen?

    • It comes with double sided tape plus several pieces with a wire holder to run the wire from the cigarette lighter to the dashcam so it's hidden away.

    • +1

The camera end is also rotate-able. I decided to stick it to the back of my rearview mirror instead of the windscreen.
