Food Review Sites for Overseas

Hey all,

What food review site do you guys use when you travel overseas?

Like in Sydney generally everyone uses Zomato to screen whether a restaurant is good or not.
I know Yelp is very popular for US but I would like to know what I should use for Europe and Asia.

It has been mentioned to me before by friends that I should check-out tabelog for food reviews in Japan and be wary of TripAdvisor as a sizeable amount of reviews tends towards a more touristy audience.

Basically what would locals uses to gauge where to eat using an online review in other countries?

I used yelp when I went to USA. Japan was more mix of youtube videos, google reviews and blogs.

    Tripadvisor

    • I second this, found that even locally, TripAdvisor can be more accurate to Zomato.

But overseas, I've found lots of little gems through the site.

India is aaaaaaaaaaaaall Zomato baby. Like 5000 reviews per restaurant. None of this 5 reviews on Trip Advisor nonsense. You pretty well know you're getting a reasonable average review

  • Yelp and Zomato are pretty much world wide.

I usually google the restaurant beforehand to see what people have said on a few different sites.

  • best food review sites overseas is on site with locals telling you reviews.
