JB Hi-FI [Faulty] Surface Book 2

Hey,

I bought my first surface book 2 from JB Hi-Fi on the 18th of June. After taking it home and running it, there were multiple problems, all related to the internet/wifi. So I got a replacement the next day after having to argue with the manager over replacement vs repair…for a product I had just bought the day before. Fortunately, after a bit of a discussion he agreed to give me a replacement. Now, after having used the second unit for over a week, there is a problem with the display! There are areas on the screen (middle left, and bottom right quadrant) where there are 'popping' sounds when you press on it. As if the adhesive is not on there properly. Could someone confirm with me whether this is out of the ordinary or normal? Also, how would you go about get a replacement if it has been 9 days since my purchase.

Thank you for the help :)

Return it for a refund. Then go and purchase an iPad Pro.

    • Will there be any issue with a refund? I love the device, but am so sick of this poor quality control :(

Quite disappointing, suddenly Apple's premium price seems alright.

    • They're pretty good I reckon. They'll send you a a replacement and then you send your faulty item. They don't repair, just replace.

      • Not with my Windows phone, they outsourced support to some Indian company that are completely useless.

Seems like most companies are outsourcing except Apple.

        • Windows Phone is different, they gave up on it unfortunately.

Ask for refund. If this is the second faulty product you are better off finding another brand. Do you really want to go through a 3rd visit back to JB. I dont think they want to see you either. Simple.

    • Got the refund, thank you!

@ddsingh Its just annoying that you had 2 defected items. You would think that Microsoft would make good products, but obviously not. Suppose that's why Apple gets a good wrap on their products, but I'm sure they have defective ones as well, maybe not so quick. There are other brands than Apple though so have a look around. At least you have your money back.

  • Try a Surface Pro if you want to stick with Microsoft. Mine is awesome.
