Seems there is a widespread problem with Google Chromecast. Mine isn't working. Cant believe how dependent Ive become on it. If this doesn't resolve itself soon I might even spend some quality time with my family.

Yes today I got no Chromecast button or icon on my YouTube app. Android phone.

Mines not working either. I tried resetting it and stuff. No good. So I contacted google on Twitter and they said it's a known issue and they're working on it.
After reading that reddit thread just imagine how many combined hours were wasted by people around the world tonight resetting their ccs, routers, casting devices etc. Thankfully I only mucked around for about an hour before finding out about the issue online.
Exactly. I must have spent at least two hours tonight. Plus imagine how potty-mouthed my children are going to be from hearing me swear all night.
I spen't more than two hours. I thought I had errors with multiple devices being assigned the same IP. Messed around with routers for hours.

yesterday evening Netflix, YouTube and plus 7 app didn't have cast icon appearing. Thought it was my phone. after resetting it repeatedly but failing to get it working, I spat the dummy and went to bed early.

I blamed it on the iView update.
We had to watch iView through my Fire Stick's Kodi install instead!

Yep mine stopped working last night. Managed to fix itself up around 8pm EST. All hell nearly broke loose in the household
I was trying to stream PJ Masks to the TV and I couldnt. My kid was screaming like he was a victim of some war crime. Eventually he had to just watch it on a smartphone. This is why we never go camping.

Globally, Google Cast services and Home are down since around 11 am ADST yesterday. Issues take many forms. For me, all my six google devices are working fine themselves. However, the "cast" button on all google cast enabled apps like Netflix, TuneIn etc have disappeared on control devices like phones and tablets. Yes, there is no cast button on even the YouTube app!
Google says they have fixed this today. They advise to power cycle affected devices. Haven't worked for me yet. All apps remain without the "cast" button.

Mine works. After turning on the chrome cast, the device updated itself and allowed me to stream Netflix and youtube. But I can't see my google home appear in the casting menu. Only chrome cast devices.
From today the Chromecast button disappeared from my mobile youtube app.
