Redmi Note 5 (the Snapdragon 636 version) perhaps.
The Mi5 was a great bargain when it could be had for around $300, flagship specs, decent camera at a great price.

My most recent Xiaomi is the Mi Note 3, which I bought for the good camera, but it was $420, and is still around the $400 mark I think.
