Hilton Honors up to 30% off Sale to Australia, NZ and The South Pacific - Stack with AMEX deal

100

Hilton is having a sale which stacks really well with the current Amex spend $400, get $120 back deal.

For example, I was interested in staying three nights in the Sydney Hilton (King Hilton Executive Room) and before the sale, each night was ~AU$483 but dropped to AU$356. Please note that these sale prices are non refundable and they will charge your CC ASAP (which is what you want to be honest as the Amex deal runs out on 30 June 2018).

To be able to split the payments, you can do it a few ways. Probably the easiest way is to just call the Hilton and ask for in-house reservations (so you do not get an overseas operator as they cannot split payments across multiple cards) and just tell them the nights you want and be honest with them and tell them that you get $120 back for every $400 you spend and so that is why you are doing it.

I would make sure that you check in the App what the individual prices per night are as sometimes when you get a quote for multiple nights, the summed up nights somehow ends up being greater than the individual ones. If this is the case, just book (via the APP), Night one on CC1, Night two on CC2, and THEN call the Hilton In-House reservations to get the third night and split then (that is what I did).

For me, I ended up with three nights (Fri/Sat/Sun) for a total of $999.90 less $240 from Amex (or $759.90 for three nights with Executive Club).

  • Any Hilton's in Noumea? And would this also attract the AMEX deal?

    • New Caledonia
      Hilton Noumea La Promenade Residences
Located at the heart of Noumea with direct access to Anse Vata Beach
      From AU$244

Unfortunately the Amex deal only covers AU and NZ.
"Save offer to Card, book direct with Hilton in Australia & New Zealand, spend $400 or more, in one or more transactions by 30/6/2018 to receive a $120 credit, valid once per property, up to 10 properties. Limited to 25,000 Cards to save. Exclusions apply."
Cannot seem to update my OP to reflect the AU/NZ only for the Amex deal components.

      • Thanks for this info Danielh :)

  • Nice deal but you have to book now.

    • Yep, definitely book by 29 June but to be honest, do it sooner. If you book direct with Hilton staff your CC will be charged immediately but if via App, it is manually done a day or so later.

      • I booked this sale over a week ago and still haven't been charged. Called up Queenstown on the weekend and requested they charged the card but they still haven't… they really dont care abt charging for full prepayment reservations which I find very funny in this day and age.

        • That is a bit worrying. I’ll probably give the Sydney Hilton in house reception a call to maybe force the payment.

        • Hi Lainey,

Did you book Hilton Resort and spa? how much did you end up paying each night? I called Queenstown in house reservation and the lady has no idea about Amex cashback offer. I am trying to book from 11/7 to 16/7 and she said $331pn, $401pn including breakfast.

Do I need to book through Amex site, as lowest I can get is $331.

@toast: Hilton will have no idea about Amex. Just pay with Amex. To get the Hilton Honor best sale rate u need a hilton honours account and be logged in. I am paying $259nz for a lake view deluxe as the cheap rooms are sold out. If you dont see a sale rate it means they have sold out for that time period for that type of room.
I will call up again and ask them to charge the card. Last time at Doubletree Christchurch I asked them to change my card to Amex and they frigging charged the old card so had to run around and get it fixed up which happened eventually. So they are a bit hopeless and I suggest getting on it if you want to claim Amex cashback by 30 June.

        • @lainey13: payment just came through yay! AMEX email received confirming offer redeemed. I asked them to do it on Saturday…

        • @lainey13:

Does it matter if it is a bank card through AMEX or has to be a Amex customer card?

So if I booked through like booking.com with CBA Amex card, will they honor the cash back?

        • @toast: Only if you have actually got the deal attached to your Amex card. If you never applied for it when it came out a few months back then unfortunately you will not get the $120.

        • @danielh:

Oh ok thanks Lainey, is it still to late now to attach the deal as it will expire by 30/06/2018?

        • @toast: I think registrations ran out a few weeks back. Just click on the link I provided at the top to the AMEX deal and follow the trail from there to apply.

        • @danielh:

Sorry Danielh, yeah I clicked the AMEX deal above and then clicked on Amex which took me to Amex site and I entered AMEX details. Not sure what else I need to do if I am still eligible for cash back deal.

        • @toast: Hmmm, then I would log into your Amex account and check to see that you have been given the deal (or check your emails from today to see the usual email you get once you have successfully registered).

        • @danielh: FYI I just called the Sydney Hilton and they processed my two CC payments straight away. Also got my Amex emails as well so all good for hitting the $400 spend get $120 deal on both cards.

  • I luuuuuuuuv stacker deals !!

Was easier to split 2 bookings over a few weekends in Sydney. Got Executive room + lounge with Amex cashback for $140 a night plus two free minibar items

    • which date range did you book? that's good price. How did you get lounge access?

      • Lounge access can be part of your room booking. Basically you pay for it with a higher room rate. In general the executive club rooms are on the same level (or nearby) which means it is near to top floor and are very worthwhile unless you plan to go out to lots of really nice restaurants and so you are almost forced to not stuff your face on the free snacks.

Alternatively, if you are diamond you will get EL as default.

  • Damn need this for the US.

  • Decided to also get four nights over NYE in Brisbane as well. it is 28 June and I had to call the Hilton Brisbane directly and get them to honor the 4 individual days I searched for (as getting a single four day stint was significantly more expensive) and now just filling out the manual CC authorisation forms for my three CCs.

Total cost of the four nights was ~$1215 so worked out well with the Amex Deal as I get $360 back.

    • I only just noticed this but the deal is limited to only one $120 per Amex Card for PRE-PAID bookings. Not sure how Amex are going to track this stuff down though (similar to Gift Card purchases) but I thought I'd mention it as I did that with two my my Amex cards.

      • Offer is limited to ten credits per Card to which the offer is saved, and limited to one credit per Card for pre-paid online bookings. Spend must be made on the Card to which the offer is saved to qualify.
      • I can confirm that I have received all 5 x $120 credits for my upcoming stays so all good with the split booking and calling the individual Hilton’s to process my separate payments.

  • Was charged $20 AUD as currency conversion fee for each of my booking in NZ, so effective cashback only $100 :(
