You're looking for a fun night out! You need to get yourself to the Art of Bullshit, sit back, and enjoy the show. You'll leave elated, reinvigorated, and topped up with enough energy to get you through Friday and in to the weekend!
The Art of Bullshit is Melbourne's very own participatory improvisation comedy night. Regular people take part in stage games, give a presentation or pitch for something they have no clue about, and compete for the coveted prize of Bullshit Artist of the evening!
Are you looking for a safe space to get used to public speaking, where no-one, and we mean no-one, will judge you? Perhaps you're looking for an opportunity to practice your stage skills? Or maybe you want to challenge yourself to think on the spot, and improve your resilience in business meetings. The Art of Bullshit is the perfect space to play, succeed, or even fail, to the rapturous applause of the entire audience. You'll join the ranks of every other participant, in coming off stage a winner.
Every game is based on the principle that players have no idea what's about to happen. Because of this, we like to say that the baseline is failure, because from here, you really can only go up! Even just getting on stage makes you a winner, and anything you say will be a step towards the prize. Every person who's ever taken part has said they've not regretted it, however uncertain they were to begin with.
If you're not ready for the stage just yet, that's completely fine. There's no requirement to play a game. The audience play a pivotal role too, and they have the strength of numbers. Have you just heard a presentation? Why not ask the speaker a question about their apparent topic of expertise? Have you heard someone pitch a business idea? Why not ask them about their monetisation plans? The Art of Bullshit sees audience participation underpin each game in a friendly, supportive, and often hilarious exchange during the Q&A session.
The Art of BS? I wouldn't want to compete against any politicians or PR reps as they're professionals.
