the leather… or pleather shoes look okayish
Just be careful Mustkil, the "leather" shoes are only "Leather lined" shoes - meaning just that, leather on the inside lining. The outter part of the shoes are made of crappy vinyl that tears very easily. My one and last ever pair from these guys lasted all but two weeks! Never again.
Some of these shoes/sandals may appear ugly looking at a blank crappy photo, but team them with the right clothing and they'd look great.
I find that River's shoes quality is not as bad as described by some of the comments!
The thing is that Rivers $5 shoes etc are throw-away clothes.
Not only do they add to landfill, but they project a false confidence that they are high-quality and are exceedingly comfortable. Comfort is one thing, arch support is another (its easy to develop feet problems from years of wearing shoes without good lasting arch support). A lot of cheap shoes are simply flat!
My experience is that a $120 pair of Rockports (on opportunistic clearance) will last you for 10 years, and the arch support is almost as good as when they were new. Since throwing away my Rivers shoes, my feet and lower legs have been virtually painfree.
Keep in mind there are plenty of retailers that focus even more keenly on "throw away" clothing for the masses eg. Cotton On and offer poor quality clothes for more money! ;-)
