Hey guys,
I won a router from Mwave last year and its spat the dummy.
Would you expect warranty on an item which was won from a competition?
Guess they could offer to refund me… ($0)…
Will probably just let it slide..

Yes, of course… Have you tried Mwave, what is their response?
Will probably just let it slide..
Not to sound harsh, but is there a purpose for this post?
It'll be pretty bad publicity if they don't honour warranty with their promotions.
haven't tried yet… just felt bad doing it…
Call them, explain and say you're sorry that you're bringing it up and you do appreciate the competition win. It's likely they can honour the manufacturer warranty without any skin off their nose.
Did you ask them? They will give you a more accurate answer then we can. I suspect you will be covered under warranty.
Put it up as a prize in a competition and go buy another one
Keep in mind that the mwave may not have been provided by the manufacturer, but either donated by a wholesaler, or retailer, or even purchased by the competition organiser.
Your rights in relation to the product should not be affected.
i thought most of these big sellers scan serial numbers so they know their stock and can see what they sold.
they should have record of it and can take it back to manufacturer for you.
Warranty or no warranty, maybe you can just send a short email that says…
"The router I won stopped working. Am I able to get a replacement?".
Can't hurt to ask.

What did mwave say when you asked them?
Why in the name of wasting time did you not ask Mwave first?
Maybe ask the organisation who gave you the prize. They might actually have a receipt or be able to put you in touch with the right person at the manufacturer
Any update, blehgg?
try the manufacturer.
