I just grabbed one of these online for free in-store pickup (Sydney CBD), after eyeing it off for about a year.

They normally hover around the mid to high $1000s price point. Georges has it at 50% off, although their original price seems a lot higher than elsewhere, but at $982, it's now cheaper than anywhere else I could find (don't want to know if you've found it cheaper :-p) .

  Good price! I have a GT3542LS as my main tripod that I bought nearly four years ago that has been fantastic, otherwise this would be very tempting.

    A good tripod will last a long time! I still regularly use my GT-5541LS that I bought 8 years ago.
    Like camera bags though, you starting buying new ones that are better for different things and suddenly you're up to your eyebrows in tripods!
