Probably a good price, but it' a very messy way to obtain 3x USB ports when this needs an adaptor to use in Australia. It's gonna be poking out of the wall or powerboard a heckuva long way.

This is just a generic 30w charger sold under a multitude of names.

    Here's one for around us$3.50

Here's an au plug one for $6.50 AUD. Would go with this personally.

    • Is this likely to burn my house down….or actually ok?

      • Therein lies the problem.

Life is cheap in many countries in the world, and their electrical standards are lax or non-existent.

I have opened up some electrical goods that were brought back from a holiday in Vietnam. They were using solid-core telephone wire as mains wiring. I advised the people who bought it to bin it.

Some electronic devices use recycled parts - that have been plucked from an obsolete piece of electronics, using a gas torch as the heat source to melt the solder.

Unless you know the device has been certified in a country with good electrical standards, and you know the certifications aren't fake, only then can you feel confident that the device will be safe. Or if you have the skills to open the unit up, and know how to judge the quality of what is inside.

That said, perhaps only three per thousand devices manufactured will fail in a dangerous way. So lots of people will say "Yeah, I've got one, works fine".

  • I've had bad experiences with fastech. Items arriving very late after paying for express shipping, not meeting the specifications on their website and to Russ' point…. poorly made with strange buzzing noises and vibrations.
