Hi,
Im currently in the market for a workstation laptop for Architectural Programs - Archicad - 3d rendering etc
I own a MSI GS60 that is approx. 4 years old and whilst this has been a great work horse - it's defiantly started to show it's age.
Originally i bought this gaming spec laptop (main difference being the graphics cards) for this use - firstly im curious wether if there is a huge leap to a Geforce K series (specifically for animation and rendering) or could i save some coin and look at gaming spec laptops.
Budget - 3500AUD
Main Preferences - long battery life (currently wont last 1hr without power - slim - no bezels - professional looks ( i was impressed with the new MSI g65 but the gold trim isn't for me)
I have explored the MSI WS series which look interesting (i'm waiting for them to bring one in line with the gs65) - the Gigabyte Aero 15x looks great aswell.
Mac's would also be in contention and i have seen a few 'build your own'
Basically i'm really picky in terms of looks - and i'm looking for some ideas that i havn't seen before.
has any one use/own a workstation laptop and can also weight in - in terms of docking stations etc.
Thanks for the some what picky request.
Have you checked out the Precision range by Dell? The universities use these for rendering etc
