The 24-70 G master is also the cheapest I've ever seen it for Aus stock at $2361 + $150 EFTPOS giftcard.

    • Great lens but heavy, no weather-sealing and no IS. The 24-105 is a better choice :)

      • -1

sure the 24-105 is a better choice if you enjoy less sharpness, more distortion, softer edges, slower aperture & less bokeh.

In other words, the 24-105 is a casual lens. You can't just sat the 24-105 is a better choice overall. It's not that simple.

Are you going to be shooting fast action at night-time? Do you do any post-processing on your RAW images?

          & less bokeh.

Very subjective. If you really care about it, stick to a prime lens.

Unless you want to be carrying around a lens that weighs almost 40% more than your camera (which defeats the purpose of buying a mirror-less in the first place) and costs almost just as much for very little noticeable difference other than show-off, you're wasting your money.

This is coming from an ex-owner of a 24-70mm.

          @antler:

I like to think to myself… why get a 24-105 when you can just get an RX100 VI for less?

I just bought a 24-70GM cos I tend to shoot at night/evening. I use an A7R2 so I prefer the flexibility to shoot in dark places 'cos I can just crop or use sup35 mode for extra focal length.

        • @pandaoncoffee: Fair enough :)

Some okay pricing but some slightly better in the recent teds ebay sale

Eg 12-40 olympus 2.8 pro was $640 after ebay coupon

The Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 FE(digidirect.com.au) is $1016.65 which seems to be pretty good for a newly released lens.

Dodgy, they took it out of the sale

    • Conveniently out of stock.

      • +2

Thats the way to take it out of the sale.

They have it on their ebay store https://www.ebay.com.au/ulk/itm/352382527193

        • I bought this lens from Teds Camera (of ebay) - 20% sale on it; they called and said its out of stock and asked me if I wanted to cancel. These stores are scum.

    • The firmware update to fix the awful auto-focus issue still hasn't been released.

Did we just break their website?

    • +1

      Yeah. Website down lol !

    • +6

      Adjusting prices. Lol

  • down down down

  • Good to pair with the Sony eftpos deals.

    Would Teds price match?

    • +1

The Sony kiosk is happy to do price match, plus you get the eftpos card on the spot

      • Where are these kiosks? Any in Sydney or Brisbane?

        • +1

          Castle hill, parramatta and chastwood

  • ifixa Did you mistype the price of the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 FE? Because I bought it at $1061.65 at 20:22.. not $1016.65 as you listed it? I'm trying to work out whether they dropped the price again after I purchased it.. or that the price was mistyped on OzBargain. Can anyone confirm?

    • Ooops, must have been a mistype. The cached page does show $1061.65 at time of posting. Seems to be out of stock or no longer available though.

      • Cheers! thanks for confirming tho.. it did make more sense at $1061.65, as $1249 - 15% ($187.35) = $1061.65

        • Have you received the lens?

        • @snvl: Yes, picked up the next day

  • Bought a rx100V thanks!

  • +1

Is the Sony A6500 at $1315.80 good price?

  • +1

Thanks OP for this. There are good deals on the Sony FE lenses, eg the 85mm 1.8 and the 55mm 1.8 look like a good time to buy these if that is what you need.

  • Fuji f/1.2 56mm lens, sounds like a good price for $800+. Can anyone vouch? The Fuji cashback ends next week

    • +3

it's a must have lens. go for it at that price.

  • Seems like good prices for for older 16MP Fuji bodies (X-A10, X-E2s), or for the new X-T100 camera (Bayer sensor entry level with viewfinder). Lowest I've seen that one so far.

  • The Sony FE 24-105mm is still full price. Other places are offering it a lot cheaper.

    • It is on their exclusion list

  • Gutted, I bought a Sony RX100 V a week ago at Ted's and could have saved $200 - anyone know if there's anything I can do?

    • Try returning it?

    • Does your CC provide price protection? If you can't return it, eBay/gum tree's your best bet.

    • If you bought on credit card, check out provisions of price protection on it.

  • For others to be aware; I ordered some items last night that were showing "in stock" only to receive an email this morning saying that they are not, and no eta was given. Less than thrilled. :-)

Happens a lot with digidirect. I've waited months for some stuff to come in. In fact my order history with them shows quite a few items I've ended up cancelling because the wait was ridiculous.

Oof, owie, ouch, my wallet! $4k gone. Still, saved $700. And with a trip to NZ soon another $400 back with TRS. OzBargine gold metal effort I think.

    • It's divide by 11 not 10. Plus I wonder at what value they "mark" you to check when you come back lol :P

  • is this a good price for Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens $1,588.65

  • I tempted to buy Nikon 16-80mm or 16-85mm for my overseas travel.

But do you guys think it is better to buy small easy to carry camera like Sony or Panasonic GX850? I have iphone 7, but prefer a camera with wide lens and ability to zoom.

  • Anyone purchased from Digidirect eBay store? ETA has passed and they don't reply mails
