What's a Good Gym in Koh Samui (Thailand) ?

Long story short: I'm traveling to Koh Samui (yay!) and staying for longer than expected due to some personal business (around 10 weeks).

I like to work out, because it keeps me motivated and in shape, ok I don't like it, I love it! Therefore, during my time in Koh Samui I don't want to just lay down, relax and chill, no, because I know I will come back fatter. I want a place where I can train properly, hit the weights, do some good cardio and that's all, and a swimming pool would be nice too.
Do you know of any place in Samui that meets such requirements? It'd be excellent if they was any, because I'm planning everything in my trip and this is one of the very few missing things that I need to take care of as soon as possible.

Thanks a lot in advance!

    why not google it?

    then read reviews.

and make a decision based on those.

  • stroll into a large resort. grab towel. train.

  • How about your hotel ? Book one with a gym

    • I was also considering it, but I want something more complete and staying in a big and expensive resort is not an option. Anyways, I started doing what Altomic suggested and I found this one Koh Fit Thailand: https://www.kohfitthailand.com/ they have many classes including muay thai and weight lifting, so I think they are good. I am going to message them to know more about the prices and hopefully they won't be very expensive. I will keep looking, but at the moment, they are the best I've found.

  • Go to local bar. You'll get a good workout there……….

Posting on a travel forum like tripadvisor would net better results.

    • That's what I thought.

Signed up to an Australian based bargains forum to ask a question about a gym in an Asian country. Very peculiar.

Been to Koh Samui, rarely seen fat blokes there (apart from tourists). Best gym there is "Hard Labour".

    Tarzan never had a gym … :P
Jump in the beach for a swim, climb trees for coconut, chase the local wildlife, walk/jog to your next feed

jokes aside, I visited Koh Samui purely as a tourist, and stayed at the resort .. sorry not much help here. Good luck and safe trip tho

For 10 weeks you'll save a lot of money if you book long-term accommodation. It would be silly to restrict yourself to a place with a gym if that's the only redeeming feature.

There are a lot of gym junkie tourists in Thailand (esp Pattaya) so I'm sure you won't have an issue finding one that meets your needs. I don't know about pools though (if you're not fussed about water density and lap length the sea could be good enough).

    Thailand? Why join a gym?

Push-ups on your bed is a common exercise for tourists there - as long as you can last more than a minute.

Gyms and staying in hotels can be boring for 10 weeks.

Why don't you join a local Muay Thai if possible? Should be good fun, tick the boxes for you and you also meet new people.

    • Yeah, I've been considering it as well, joining a muay thai camp sounds like fun
