DeLonghi Oil Column Heater 1500W Radia S TRRS0715E.G $141 (RRP $165) Free Delivery @ Appliances Online

20

Feeling damn cold in melbourne today, so I went online looking to buy a heater today!

Just so happens it coincides with the 1st day of appliancesonline's EOFY sale.

$141 was $165.

Goodguys sell it $169 but its not on their ebay store so cant get 20% off. Pricehipster had it at $152 2 months ago.
Harveynorman is $165 + $6 delivery to melbourne. Was $143 a year ago.
Retravision has it online for $129 but only have stores in Perth and its $100 delivery from there
Not available on amazon.com.au atm.

I already have the older, cheaper non-digital version at home (TRRS0715T) and it works well but the plastic dial is a bit fragile/easy to break and not too intuitive to use so hoping this digital one with buttons will be more robust, for a different room at home. Also this dark grey looks sleeker than the traditional light grey oil column heaters that my grandma had/s (still working!). Not exactly sure how these are on power consumption…

  • The 1500W Dragon 4 Oil Column Heater is available for $151.2 (after eBay discount) https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-DeLonghi-TRD41500MT-1500W-Drag…

  • +1

This thing guzzles electricity crazy!! Will get shocked to see electricity bill that's triples the price if running all nights.

  • All electric heaters are the same efficiency. They will all consume x units of energy to produce x units of heat, whether that be a $20 Kmart fan heater or this $140 oil heater.

    They will chew power.

If you are able to, the most efficient option is to install reverse cycle split system…

    • If I got a split system aircon I would somehow need to get it installed in a way that isn't back-to-back. I gather that is possible but probably would be even more expensive!

Meanwhile oil heater meets my requirements for now as I only need it for guests.

    • "If you are able to, the most efficient option is to install reverse cycle split system…"
That's probably the biggest point, if you are able to.
Also, to only heat specific rooms that may be further away from Reverse Cycle would you install a second RC? A third RC? A fourth.. ?
RC is much cheaper long term but depending on the house it could be handy to have a portable heater that is easy to use. This one has a timer and a thermostat, which is a bonus for keeping costs down in pre-warming, taking chill off, and turning off when needed, etc.

  • Same heater without the digital display for $110 delivered on Amazon. $90 with code.

    • like i said in the original post i have one of these already, got it for cheaper than that albeit few year ago, but because of the fragile dial i wouldn't recommend it.

  • I had a chat with online customer service and did price match with Retravision.
So, I got a deal $129, including delivery for NSW 2148.
    Thanks OP.

  • might get my local goodguys to price beat retravision.
