anoyone know if these are fabric or plastic?

      • Troll

      • It's actually a legitimate question, I flare up with fabric.

        • Interesting.

I’ll never buy plastic again. They last 60sec. Fabric lasts a week (and takes a laver of skin off, when removing). Having to use plastic would depress me!

Oh, here we go again - the problem of relativity, well described by Dan Ariely.

You feel it's an amazing deal just like the $1 paracetamol deal was (124 upvotes) and ignore that all you can save is actually $1, irrespective of how many percent it is. You don't spend percents, you spend dollars, so a dollar is a dollar, no matter how you frame it.
On the other hand if they lowered the price for Apple TV by $3, it would not get 3x this many, but probably not even this many upvotes, even though you would actually save $3 as opposed to $1.

Read the book and stop getting so excited about nothing :)

    • +5

Because an Apple TV for $3 less is not much of a change, whereas a box of bandaids for 50 cents is a change. It's all relative, you see… A shirt that I would normally buy for $80 is now $10. That's good. A car that's $70-off a $50,000 pricetag, that's not good - that's terrible. It's the same amount discounted but maybe now you understand how the percentage can matter? Hot chocolate that I'd normally be buying for $6 is now $3. Now, again, that's good. It's not just a case of a 'dollar is a dollar.' And you're not considering that these are items people normally buy and have a use for, that they've spent money on before and that they expected to buy more of in the future, and now there's a notable difference in the price.

As well, upvoting, having an interest in a deal, etc, etc, doesn't necessarily mean, 'OMG!!!! Tears in eyes increddiblele!'

And, lastly, these bandaids were originally $4.00, according to a quick search just now.

So when you get your salary, do you get a percents or dollars?
Because if you get percents, then the more percents you save the better!
However, if you get dollars, every $70 dollars you save is $70 dollars, no matter how you saved it.
It is totally irrelevant what happened, the after-spend (current) state matters only, doesn't matter how you got there.
        So these are equivalents:

        SALARY - A - B - C = LEFTOVER

Does not matter if it was this:

        $100 - $3 (hotdog) - $47 (woolies) - $1 (bandaid) = $49

        Or this:

        $100 - $5 (hotdog) - $42 (woolies) - $4 (bandaid) = $49

66% more for hotdog! A mere 9% savings on woolies… But 300% more on bandaid!! OMG
But still, you end up with the same money and same items. So the only thing that matters is how many dollars you earn, spend, and save. Percents only delicious to your mind, not your wallet.

Again, read the book, it's totally worth it!

EDIT: 38 upvotes. People going crazy for a big fat nothing. Sits back, gets the popcorn

It sounds like you just didn't read the deal. This is a packet of 50 bandages for only 50 cents. But they're not just all the same bandages, which is apparently what you're thinking. No, it's a variety. You've got a small round one. A long rectangular one. Several different types. And the saving on this is $3.50.

        • Percents only delicious to your mind, not your wallet.

Much of ozb is about the mind more than the wallet. Think dopamine, not dollars. Nothing wrong with that.

          $100 - $3 (hotdog) - $47 (woolies) - $1 (bandaid) = $49
          $100 - $5 (hotdog) - $42 (woolies) - $4 (bandaid) = $49

          $100 - $3 (hotdog) - $42 (woolies) - $1 (bandaid) = $54

I bet you’re fun at parties LOL. I’m curious if you’ll post this on every $small saving?

      Any deals on the book?

  • Thanks bought a few.

Thanks OP, will use for a cheap wax :)

  • Great price. Usually you don’t get these sort of medical items this cheap unless you order from overseas.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Well spotted OP.

Makes me want to cut myself on purpose

    • Doesn’t sound very sharp, to me.

  • Thanks OP! Will stock up my medicine cabinet

  • Ok good price for the quantity and per item. But the elephant in the room that bites me…they are not bandages.
Sticky plasters, adhesive strips, band-aids and such never were, never will be bandages and that naming/advertising gimmick irks me, no matter the bargain.
