Hi guys just wondering what everyone is using to keep receipts. Shoe boxes to apps.
Challenges is keeping receipts for the warranty period so that 3 years later you can actually find them. I never seem to be able to find mine

I received a nice big gift box, I've been putting in all my 'important' receipts in there. If I'm keeping the box the item came with, then ill stick the receipt in there.
Careful about fading receipts
figured that by the time it fades, the warranty would be over anyway. For big purchases, they are normally emailed invoices anyway. I usually make a note for Price Drop purchases on my phone so I would have a digital copy of a print-out.
Scan the receipts, warranty cards, serial from boxes -> Archive onto google drive in a folder called "Receipts".
I usually use a doc scanner app on my phone to make the process really easy.
serial from boxes
mmm breakfast… :P~
Good for taxation purposes. Say i wanted to bring an item in for warranty issues, would i still be required to show a physical receipt or would this digital copy be fine?
I have read many times that they must accept a duplicate according to law.
Digital copy is accepted
the recycling bin.
I don't keep them but keep regretting so.
For the few expensive items I do keep them for, I like to keep the receipt in the original box and keep the box. This takes up a lot of room though.
I have a stack of papers with a few receipts I keep, it's fairly disorganised.
I've found out recently that warranty is commonly associated with the serial number of the device anyway.
Evernote.
labelled receipts, taggable and searchable. Absolutely perfect.
Only drawback is that Evernote performs like a dog nowadays. Not for everyone, but from forum posts, it seems a good number of people have been experiencing poor performance, including myself.
Box and photos. I also have a couple of boxes called “tax” and “annual”. Keeps stuff for tax time together and annual is for things like insurances and short term items. Sort at tax time.
Just snap a photo with your phone. If you sync with Google Photos, it automatically recognizes receipts and asks if you want to archive them.
i scan the and put them in a A4 display folder then the original i put in a envelope in the folder.
I also write how long warranty is for on the scanned ones so if i have issues i can refer to the folder
then just a matter of getting the original out if i need to take back to the store.
By putting the originals in the folder i Don't seem to have any issues with fading.
The copy can be used in store
scan with office lens. upload to drive/dropbox/onedrive
