The Best Clothes Drying Rack

So I was hanging clothes to dry this morning and our (less than good) Kmart drying rack collapses on itself, and I sort of gave up trying to fix it (it broke like 10 times already). So I'm in the market for a better clothes drying rack that would last us years (hopefully).

I tried looking as past deals/discussion on the site, and there hasn't been much info on OZbargain favourite clothes drying rack.

Found this Stainless Steel drying rack but it's going for $70 which seems pretty outrageous

So was just wondering which sturdy drying rack is the best?

I have the Swedish made LJC-5000.
    made from mimetic polyalloy.
this bad boy has a load bearing capacity of 100kg.
utilising advanced evaporative air drift technology it reduces drying time by 37%.
The World Drying Rack Society voted this the number one rack in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 & 2017. (2014 had no rack rating as Stanley Morrison - founder of Dryco passed away).
It boasts 12 different assembly positions

a steal at $475 currently. was as low as $425 during a freakish sale 6 months ago and sold out in minutes.

I got this one from the The Reject Shop which seems to be similarly designed and it works great. Definitely wouldn't pay $75 for one though.

    • I have one very very similar. It even has a center portion that's raised so you can hang stuff from hangers. Anyway, got mine from Costco for $60 - which was overpriced but the wife wanted it, so happy wife, happy life.

There are slightly similar ones to the one in your link from Bunnings. You might want to check them out too.

I've had two of these for past 10 years and worked perfectly fine for me

This is the one we use. We keep it permanently outside but under cover. The paint is starting to flake on the oldest one, which we've had for about 9 years and it is starting to get rusty. They hold a lot of washing and are very stable.

yep, we had a similar one from Bunnings and as an indoor unit it lasted over ten years

  • Use a rope. Tie 2 a tree and a point on the house.

Don’t buy anything from Howard’s Storage World; not sure where they get the audacity to charge the prices they do.

    Similar Clothes Airers from:
    - Kmart $29
    - BigW $39
    - Target $39

We got similar to the Howard’s one for $59 at the Breville outlet place near us. the one we got was sturdier, and wider, than the Bunnings style ones. We need sturdier because the cats use them as a jungle gym. I think the cheaper ones will work just as well for clothes. I suggest teaming it with multiclip hangers for socks, underwear etc. you can hand them it on the outer rail.

You might want something like an indoor Hills Hoist - takes little space and can be folded up easily. Got 2 on special when Dealsdirect were clearing for $5 each and both brother's and my family have found it invaluable.

Last I saw was at Aldi (e.g. $25 in 2015).

      Police Squad
Mimi Du Jour: Is this some kind of bust?
Frank: Yes, ma'am, it's very impressive, but we need to ask you a few questions.

  • $20 one from the hot dollar store, has lasted 5 years so far no problems.

  • Been using IKEA ones for years they cost 20 bucks I think.

    No plastic bits
