I follow smart phone releases pretty closely and I have yet to see a phone released that has both screen size less then 5.0" and minimal bezels?
I feel like the next hot phone with be something like an iPhone SE with minimal bezels.
Why has this not been done yet? Closest would be Sharp Aquos Mini from 2016 but even that had a big chin.
IPhone Se2 is coming soon so perhaps it might re ignite a trend for small screen phones. But the market tends to like bigger screens year after year, and battery tech hasn't improved much lately so the overall size of the phone is important.
Right now all the flagships today are going for larger 18:9 ratio displays with that notch and a finger scanner on either the backside or the front
Xiaomi Mi6 gets pretty close.
Here we are a year later and still no phone exist ~5 inch with minimal bezel !?

compromise between , size limit / thicker / smaller battery
bezelless costs more to design/make , yet can't price it premium up there against other 6" flagships (except for iphone , only apple can price whatever they want)
