Qualified Traders (E.g. Electrician, Plumber) on Airtasker - How to verify?

Hi All,

Thanks to this thread I was lucky enough to get in quick to score the $50 voucher.

Will be the first time trying Airtasker and I was looking around to get some electrical work done.

Found https://www.airtasker.com/electrical/ to obviously post up the "electrical" work I want done, however quickly searching around I couldn't find any info on how to verify that the trader is qualified. I may be blind?

Forgive my ignorance, but how do I ascertain that the person offering to do the job is in fact qualified?

Last thing I want is for some bloke to take up the job claiming to be qualified but isn't… I'll be up sht creek with my insurance together with my non Australian certified power board!

    If hiring through Airtasker the person you assign should have an electrical badge on their profile, meaning that they've had their licence verified by the platform.

    Which state are you in?
    Energy safe Victoria is the licensing body in Vic. Assume all states would have something similar.
    They should be issued with a physical license that you could inspect.
    Also you can ask if they will provide you with COES(certificate of electrical safety) for the work, assume this would be similar in all states too.
