Tips/Tricks/Methods to Monitor Price Drops to Claim Price Protection

Hi,

Sorry if this is an obvious/noob question, but what do people do to monitor price changes for things they've bought so they can claim on price protection insurance?

Is it as manual and tedious as having a spreadsheet and checking each item one by one? Daily? Weekly? Monthly?

Or is there a faster more efficient method?

Regards,
DJK

If pricehipster lists your item, bingo

Depending whether or not your item is popular on OzB you can subscribe to deal notifications.

I use an Android app called "Web Alert Xp".
Plug in the page, set the area of the page to monitor, and the frequency in which to monitor, and you're good to go.
I use this for sales, as opposed to purchased items, but I should use it for that too..

Mate, this could be it! Cheers!

    • Update: Although none of my bought prices have dropped, they have gone up, so I know it's working! Thanks!

I keep an extensive spreadsheet haha, now I’m gonna try one of the above easier methods!

  • I use notifyprice.com — It's got all the features I'd want, but only for select retailers (ones with which they have an affiliate relationship, as far as I can tell.

Has an Android app and you can set the triggers for a notification — I set it for the price at which I'd bother making a claim. Or the discount at which I'd decide to buy something.

Have started using the Web Alert app for stores that aren't supported by notifyprice.com, like EB Games.
