    • which are on pc?

        • Gears of War 4
        • Halo Wars 2
        • Halo Wars: Definitive Edition
        • ReCore
        • Riptide GP: Renegade
        • Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection
        • Super Lucky's Tale
        • Sea of Thieves
        • State of Decay 2
        • Disneyland Adventures

All the upcoming first party exclusives, like Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, and Crackdown 3 will also be Play Anywhere titles

  • My Xbox account is a US one do I need VPN?

    • no one answered so i'm just gonna take a guess and say yes. it seems that the issue isn't with the account but with which store you claim it in. An australian IP will automatically redirect you to the AUS store so you need a VPN to claim the code in the US store

      • I think you are right. But can’t confirm.

  • +3

Best Buy Canada also have it for $36.43AU before any conversion fees:
    https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/-/12381147.aspx

  • So can you just VPN with your normal Aus Xbox Live account? or do you need to create a new account that's somewhat US based?

    • +1

Your normal Australian account will work.

  • +2

Woah did not know Forza Horizon 4 was announced.
    I'm keen!

  • In starting to look long and hard at this pass.

  • +1

Contact the seller to get a code that works in your region. This code was purchased in a different region and cannot be redeemed.

Sorry but I cannot redeem as soon as I go to Xbox.com it redirects me to my Microsoft account which is from Australia regardless of VON

    • Your VPN is likely not working correctly. I was able to redeem without any issues over VPN.

Make sure you are VPN’ing into a US location.

      • +1

Ok got it working but weird how i had to do this,

        I did it from my iPhone with the following;

        1. Connected VPN with PureVPN to a US server, checked the IP it said Singapore but proceeded anyhow
        2. Went to the email that amazon sent which there is a section that says redeem this from Xbox - clicked on this and it went to my previously logged Microsoft AU account and applied that code.
        3. On application it asked if I wanted to setup auto recharge and it will give me an extra month free.

Game pass is great, thanks !!

  • +1

Cool. Will go nicely with yesterday's deal that I grabbed

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/383896?page=1#comment-6041…

These passes can be bought and not used for awhile I take it?
Want to obviously use the $1 first month first when box arrives.

    • I don’t see why not. They are just a redemption code.

    • I hope you have a lot of time because this will keep you busy!

  • It seems to be sold out.

    • It looks like it. Sign up for a notification for when it’s back in stock.

It happened yesterday too, then it came back in stock this morning (just before I posted this deal)

  • Wow out of stock… would of liked to stack these

  • Back in stock purchased another - let’s see if it stacks

  • +3

    Can confirm these stack,

    For most effective way of receiving as many months as possible do the following;

    1. Purchase the $1 Game Pass from the Australian store for 1 month and turn off auto renewal
    2. Purchase the 6 month game pass from Amazon it will ask you if you want to turn on auto renewal for a bonus 1 month (7 months in total)
    3. Purchase another 6 month game pass and stack
    • Thanks dude, got exactly that.

  • Back in stock at Amazon

  • To clarify: I don't need to use a VPN to purchase this from Amazon, right? Because Amazon is saying it's not available for purchase due to geographical restrictions (and they've detected it's from Oz). I have an Amazon US account if that makes any difference.

    • Buy with a US amazon account - you don’t need VPN

VPN is only required to redeem the code on the Microsoft site

      • Yeah, I got that. I'm still getting geoblocked though. Do I need to use a US delivery address to overcome this?

        • Just find an address like a hotel, ideally in a state with no sales tax (e.g. Oregon).

        • @guidedlight:

Or if you've got a US forwarding mail address such as Shipito then use that address.

        • @hollykryten:
I still haven't completed the payment process. The cc is being rejected for some reason. Does the phone number on the cc need to match the phone number on the delivery address? Or is there something else I'm missing?

        • @pupdog:

Not sure. I think I used my proper phone number for the US delivery address +61 4xxx xxxxxx

        • @guidedlight:
Good news. I finally got it but I had to switch ccs. I still don't understand why the first card was rejected.

      • Couldn’t use code due to existing subscription being from Argentina

        • +1

I had an existing AU subscription and it applied the US game pass with no issues

        • +1

It might be a similar issue to the one mentioned here: http://whrl.pl/RfaIPK

          If so, follow the directions.

        • @guidedlight: you sir, are a legend! Thank you

  • Tempted to get it, but I wasted 2 GamePass 1 month vouchers recently. Must resist…

You can also earn GamePass monthly vouchers through MS Rewards, but will take at least 2 months of constant daily Bing searches on mobile and desktop just to get one.

  • Do you redeem this using the website? Was slightly confused wondering how people were meant to use a vpn on a Xbox

    • Do you redeem this using the website?

      Yes at Xbox.com

  • When does the code expire? I don't wanna redeem it that early, waiting for Crackdown 3 and Forza Horizon 4 in October…

    • +2

Officially, the codes don’t expire and they do stack. But I wouldn’t hold onto it indefinitely, but they should be good if not used for at least 2 years.

Just remember that they are US codes, and must be redeemed using a VPN from Australia. So the biggest danger is that this workaround is blocked which is unlikely but not impossible.

  • Still waiting on my Amazon Xbox One S to arrive. Just reading up if I can play the games i download after the xbox pass expires… seems I can as long as I have the HDD space, but I did read that if the game leaves the pass, then I will loose access to the game

Once a title leaves the Xbox Game Pass catalog, you will need to insert a disc, purchase a digital copy from the Microsoft Store, or obtain another form of entitlement

(like a trial) to continue playing

I don't have much free time for playing games, but want to have a few to keep hold of from this pass.

    • Once the game leaves GamePass library, you need to own the game in order to continue playing that game. Microsoft let you know well in advance and tend to also offer discount for games about to leave the library.

Think of it as leasing the games. Except there are some games that Microsoft won't allow you to continue leasing after a while.
