Using Multiple Broadlink RM Pro in One House

Hi Guys

Just found this item and they seem pretty cool I was just wondering if someone has had multiple RM's in their house. I am looking to get this for my parents house but they would probably require I install 3 over there but I am not sure if the APP first gives you an option to choose IR Blaster 1, 2 or 3 etc… or if it would just send the IR Blast to all the devices.

Thanks!

These are just very powerful controllers for infrared devices (like TVs and airconditioners) and radio frequency devices (like garage doors) that can be controlled using a mobile app. They also integrate with Amazon's Alexa, Google's Assistant and perhaps other assistants.

They work ok but I have found the mobile app used to train them to be very poor - it's not just a language issue but the UX is difficult and frustrating to use - and many radio frequency devices use whats called "rolling codes" so they don't work so easily with controllers like this.

      • agreed. Having to train every key on a remote is damn painful. I didn't really get past set up.

  • Good question, I was thinking of getting two as well.

  • If only using ir get the mini not the pro.

  • but I am not sure if the APP first gives you an option to choose IR Blaster 1, 2 or 3

Not sure for the pros, but I guess they will be the same as the minis.

From the e-control app, press the + in the top right corner then go device list. It will show them all there.

In my case, you select the mini you want to 'add a device to' and then follow the bouncing ball.

That remote device is now puked from mini device.

    • Hey Jimmy

Does this mean you have to select the Broadlink device first and then all the remotes configured to that one display?

      Thanks!

      • Only when training a new remote. Once trained, all the devices are on the main screen, and will be puked from the device they had been trained from/on.

        • hmm… so what happens if you have the Same TV in 2 areas? do it send the information to both or Do you set them up separately as TV 1 and TV 2?

Once typing this I realise that it is probably what you would do.

        • @asbindia: Correct….you have item called TV1 and one called TV2….. Lounge TV and Family Room TV etc
