Decided to give pods the flick after a lot of talk about their environmental impact and look for a decent French press.
This seems to be highly recommended by a lot of sites and is on sale at myer for a price that seems better than anything else out there.
Cheers!

Did the one at op have any rust in it? Found rust in mine.
6 bucks for the kmart variety…no rust I presume … https://www.kmart.com.au/product/3-cup-coffee-plunger/109232…
Checked when we bought it, but good reminder, i:ll check again. thanks nightelves
Kudos for your environmental concern.
Aeropress a good way to go also
+1 for the Aeropress. Much better than a plunger/french press IMHO.
Also, if environmental impact is a concern, then you can use a stainless steel filter instead of the usual paper filters.
you mean this ?

is it avail cheaper else where or only avail at this site ?
That's the one. Price is good. Maybe ebay will have it cheaper
If you're used to pods you'll be disappointed with plunger coffee. If an espresso from a proper group coffee machine made by someone who knows what they're doing is a 10/10, pod coffee is a 7-8/10 depending if you have a good milk frother (or have it black), first cup of plunger coffee 5/10, good quality instant coffee is 3/10. Plunger coffee dips to 2/10 on subsequent cups due to it getting closer and closer to lukewarm/cold (especially if you have milk). 1/10=Homebrand instant or international roast. I've only had aeropress once but I'd give it a 6-7/10 from that memory. That would probably be a better bet than the plunger.
BTW it's called a coffee plunger here not a French press (that's American)
Thanks OP. Looking for a plunger for switching from coffee to tea throughout the day.
Ikea does these for $4 (1 serve) and $9 (4 serves?). They're really good.
scored one in an opshop for $8. definitely a better way to drink coffee.
