Distressed Comfort Craftsman Boot Black/ Bark - $395 (Was $545) - Available Online Only @ R.M. Williams

750
RMW15

I've been hanging out on a deal on the standard Comfort Craftsmans from RM (I'm a bit wary of using a reseller in case there are any after sales issues on such an expensive purchase) so if you're in the same boat and would prefer to buy direct this might appeal. I stopped by the store and they described them as a bit of a rougher matte look than the standards so not the office suited ones that I'm looking for unfortunately.

Only available in G (standard width)
Lots of size available in Black, less in Bark

DESCRIPTION
Our Distressed Comfort Craftsman boot is crafted from a rugged performance leather with water resistant qualities and is combined with our signature rubber outsole. This seasonal update to our flagship boot is an ideal work-horse for winter months.

This is part of their End of Season Sale
Check it out for deals on their other stuff…like this this cool Akubra! down to $154 (was $220)

EDIT - Added this code (RMW15) I found - it allows you to add any of the leather care products for free. I can't comment with any certainty on what would be best to choose for this boot since with its water resistant finish I don't think you polish. At the least you can grab a $30 can of leather conditioner for other shoes.

  • Ah it's already sold out.

    lmfao, $545 for boots.

  • I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a pair of those! Maybe when I'm working on a farm or turn 65

Wow, that's one ugly pair of boots.

  • I have a mongrel boots (made in Australia) using it for work every day for more than 5 years.
I think it cost Mr around $140/-.
still good as new, never even had to resole. Highly recommended.

Are they dress boots though? Can't compare elastic sided boots just for having elastic sides. I used to have mongrel boots as a tradie but they are very much a solid, rough tradie boot made for a work site

  • Let us know if you ever find a good price on the standard comfort craftsman. I have my code and just waiting for a decent price. (The outlet sale would be awesome!) I've been waiting a few years now :(

    • I think you'll be waiting a lot longer… The craftsmen is RM William's bread and butter.

  • reminds me, better buy some shoes from the Salisbury 2nd outlet before they close for good.

    • Are they closing? Do they have a good range, and are the prices discounted much? I have relatives down there but thought it would be imposing too much to ask them to go and check for me. Might have to if it's last chance.

  • Could only see G fittings. If you've got wider or narrower feet this sale won't help you.

  • "In fact, RM Williams is the boot of choice for politicians, especially those on the right side of the divide."

    • Perfect choice for politicians. They spent most of their time in a suit or a pair of slacks. They have to go to factory tours, building sites and roadworks to open buildings, sign off on projects, make funding announcements etc etc. They need something sort of rugged, goes well with a suit, is comfortable and above all else…..is Australian. RM Williams boots are perfect. Since the outcry a couple of years ago about boots being made in China, the Army supplies soldiers now with RM Williams boots as well for their dress uniforms (not for the field obviously). If you ever see a general making an announcement on TV I bet you he will be wearing RMs.

    • And for Qantas pilots. And the army.

  • Well done.
    pulled trigger on the black.

  • All the farmers of my acquaintance wear filthy old Blundstones or gumboots. I can't even imagine what type of farming you would do wearing 500 buck boots.

    • Pity the gum boots are all that's made in tassie now.

    • They buy it for life. All you have to do is resole it every so years.

    • A lot of RM Williams around my family and acquaintances. Seems that new boots are for dress, and old ones used for around the farm.

    • I was int he Army with a guy that came from a long line of farmers and got out of the Army to take over the family farm. I remember being wet and cold somewhere with him and whilst bored together he told me about how he bought good stuff that lasted a long time like good tools over cheap tools etc. He said that he would rather pay a bit extra up front and have something around the farm he could rely on for years rather than cheap stuff that might let him down. He was the original Ozbargainer because he would go to 2nd hand auctions when other farms went bust to buy their tools etc but he always bought good stuff. I cant remember if he bought RM Williams boots but the concept of stuff you could have forever, just put on a new sole every couple of years reminds me of him!

  • Restocked I believe, managed to get a size that was sold out a few days ago.

  • If anyone has a brown pair in 8.5 but wants them in black instead, let me know!

  • Restocked again, both boots on there now
