  • This has been on OB before. Anybody bought it? And is it any good? I realise it's cheap, but no point buying it if it will destroy my minimalist street cred. Thanks

    • I got one - will let you know when I receive it - just PM me.

      • Could you post your review in the forum here so any more posts on this grinder in the future can reference your experience?

        • I mainly got this unit to try as a spice grinder. I smoke a bit of meat and will use it for the rub I put on, at times only need a teaspoon or so of each. I thought this might be the way to go at the price.
Keep you posted when I get it and have had a chance to try it out.
          Cheers

You would be better off putting your beans in a blender

    • The conical shaped burr helps keep the coffee grounds in a uniform size.
I currently use an electric spice grinder, and even with utmost care, I know that some percentage of the grind will be powder sized, with the rest being other various sizes.
If the grind it uniform, you will not expect any over-extraction from the small powder, or under-extraction from the larger pieces smaller surface area.

If you use an espresso machine, this is especially pertinant, as the packing will vary, and so will the pressure as the water draws through.

Plus, less noise if you got an early morning shift and you don't want to wake everyone up.
